I recently came across this web browser based game called Ikariam, there aren't really a lot of web browser based games that I find impressive, the applications on facebook certainly don't excite me. Benefits of this are obvious, more or less instant loading time - no need to download anything on to your laptop or pc and access from anywhere, providing of course you remember your password. Ikariam is a simple enough strategy game but the amount of real players, certainly brings it to life. Ikariam is a massively multiplayer online played game in real(ish) time. You start off with a town hall at level 1 (more later) and 40 citizens on a random island. Its played via a web browser with no downloads required. There are some 3rd party add-ons that can be downloaded to help you, but as they deliver an unfair advantage most are banned. Before i started writing reviews and answering surveys i was a bit of a gameaholic. I was always on the look out for new free games and this is where i stumbled across Ikariam. The Game ~~~~~~~ Ikariam is a web based game that you play in your browser rather than downloading. It's different from most of the other games i've played because it works on real time and continues playing even when you log out.
