IMDB.com stands for the Internet Movie DataBase and it's an amazing site full of everything you ever wanted to know about movies and TV shows. You can search by movie/show title or by a person, e.g. an actor or director. For actors, you are shown photos of them, a biography and filmography, along with any recent news headlines. For movies and shows, you see a synopsis of the plot and details of everyone who was involved, from actors to producers. When I'm watching a movie and recognise an actor but can't remember their name or where I've seen them from, I always go to IMDB.com first to look them up. Once I've found them listed in the movie or show I'm currently watching, I can click on their name to go through to the actor page which includes the filmography so I can see everything else they've been in. There are also message boards for each page (actor page or movie/show page) where users can discuss facts or rumours they've heard, comment on recent episodes of a show etc. All in all, it's an incredibly useful website and - best of all - everything I've described above is free to do!
