I love films and would go as far to say that i consider myself a bit of a movie buff. I first came across imdb.com a few years ago when i did a search on Google for a film and it directed me to this website.

If you have never heard of imdb.com, it is an online database of movies and information. You will find information related also to actors, video games, tv shows and even crew personnel.

It also features some fictional characters from media like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider.

Imdb.com was launched in 1990 and was bought over by Amazon in 1998. I go to imdb anytime i want to look up information about a film that is coming out and have used it a lot of times to look up information about my favourite actors and actresses.

Imdb claims that it is the "earths biggest movie database". This is probably true as i love films and have never came across a more detailed and information movie database as this one.

I think the amount of information this website provides on a film is amazing. Not only does it provide the plot, it also gives a full cast list, quotes and even a user rating option among other things.

It also gives taglines and says if a film has gone down or up in search popularity that week.

If you are looking for the release date of a future film, this website will tell you and will also give fun trivia facts.

Users can leave comments on the site about what they thought of a particular film and this is a good way to gauge if you will like it or not before going to see it.

Overall, i think imdb.com is a brilliant informative and helpful website. I think any movie or media fans would find this website an invaluable resource and i recommend it. Its also free to use which is great.
