Advantages: funny, twisted, entertaining
Disadvantages: offensive, twisted, occasionally downright nasty
You are a frightfully ill-mannered harpy and a vapid, blood-freezing obfuscation of all that is good. Insultmonger.com is apparently the oldest insult dedicated site. It certainly hasn't mellowed with age! This site had me in stitches for a whole ten minutes, thanks to its random insult generator which can give you a very random insult, or if you prefer to make things a little more personal, you can add your general appearance, intelligance level and profession, to take the to an even lower level. The above was my own individual insult, exactly tailored to my needs. This activity kept me busy for a little while, generating random insults for myself, my friends and my family, most of whom seemed to be a little sick of me by the end, as I'm sure you can imagine! Dedicated to the art of insult, this site is amazingly comprehensive, complete with horror-scope, and an 'ask the sociopath' problem page... if you really want an answer to your problems I strongly suggest you don't look for it here, unless you enjoy being told that you deserve exactly what is happening to you. It is full of twisted humour and is most definately not politically correct, although, in a way it is as it does not discriminate at all- it's out to get everybody! The site itself loads very quickly, no fancy animation, but with a strong warning that you should be 21 or over to view this site- a warning which should not be dismissed. Whilst the insult generator is full of the kind of juvenile humour which would appeal to a teenager, other parts of the site are not really suitable for kids. For example, 'The Redneck's Dating Guide', and also most of the jokes should definately be kept away from kids, for the sake of a quiet life if nothing else. The site boasts over 600 insults about sex and sexuality, so if you want your kiddies to remain innocent, keep them well away. Its educational too- and not just the part where you can lea
rn to swear and curse in up to 124 languages. It also features what reads as a suprisingly academically styled article comprising the definition and role of the insult (it reads a bit like something out of a sociology text book!). In this section you get the opportunity to learn the difference between possible types of insult (is it cathartic or pragmatic, is its impact immediate or deferred?), and can also come across a suggested insult where "we can have an apparently absurd situation whereby the insulting party intended no insult and the insulted party perceived none, but an insult still occurred!". I did find this concept a little hard to get my head around! This site is intentionally offensive, therefore if you go to it and find some part of it a little disturbing, as I did (the invective of the sociopath was a bit much for me I'm afraid!) you have no one to blame but yourself. Its also filled with warnings to this effect. The site is "standard of insult to an art form", and it certainly manages that! I'm giving this one a good rating as it achieves exactly what it sets out to do, with flying colours. It does contain occasional spelling mistakes though (like my reviews!).
