Advantages: Well paid surveys if you qualify. Payment via PayPal.

Disadvantages: Infrequent survey invites that are very hard to qualify for.

In-Your-Opinion is another online survey site that pays you to share your opinion on a variety of different topics. As you can probably tell from the reviews I've posted on this site, I'm a member of a lot of reward and loyalty sites on the world wide web. However, before I review a site, I like to wait and see how long it takes to get paid before I condemn or praise them. Sometimes the process from sign-up to receiving payment takes three to six months....and then on other sites it takes a lot longer....sometimes over a year. In-Your-Opinion is a survey site which I joined over eighteen months ago and I've only just reached their minimum payout threshold. So after my eighteen month evaluation, am I going to condemn or praise them?

~~~ Their Website ~~~
In-Your-Opinion is owned and operated by a German market research company called mo'web GmbH, who have offices in both Düsseldorf, Germany and a UK base in Hove, East Sussex. Operating since 2002, mo'web have market research panels all over Europe, as well as in the US and parts of Asia.
To have a look at their website you need to go to http://www.inyouropinion.net. The website is rather plain to look at - a simple white background with accents of pale grey, tangerine and blue. However, despite its lack of bells, frills and whistles, it's a fast loading website and it tells you everything you need to know. The FAQ is simply laid out and straightforward. As a member of the In-Your-Opinion UK panel, you'll be invited to give your opinion on a variety of different topics, and in return they'll reward you with cash payments.
~~~ The Rewards ~~~
I'm always keen to sign up for any new survey sites I come across....providing their welcoming blurb sounds like it could be worth my while. If the rewards are worth having, and if the threshold to reach those rewards seems eminently reachable, then I'll sign up and give them a whirl (my one exception to this rule is if a site is just offering prize draw entries; I just don't bother with these sites as I never win anything and I'm not even sure half of the draws are genuine...).

On the face of it, In-Your-Opinion seemed to tick most of those boxes for me. They seemed professionally run, their surveys were offering payment of between Euro 1 and Euro 10 each, and you only needed to reach Euro 20 to earn a payout.

Rewards for being a member of the panel are paid out in euros through a PayPal account. As I said above, you do need to have reached Euro 20 before they pay you, and you will, of course, need your own PayPal account in order to receive your reward. If you haven't got a PayPal account, it's easy enough to open one by visiting www.paypal.co.uk. Once you reach Euro 20, you claim your cash through the In-Your-Opinion online form and payment is made into your PayPal account on the 20th day of the month.

In addition to the cash payments for surveys, In-Your-Opinion also run a monthly prize draw (first place is Euro 500 and second offers five prizes of Euro 50 each). Each time you respond to one of their survey invites you get several prize draw entries (irrespective of whether you qualify for the survey or not....you still get a minimum of at least five prize draw entries). In addition, there is an annual jackpot of Euro 10,000. Needless to say, I haven't even won a sausage in any of these prize draws so far.

~~~ How to join ~~~
The website is at http://www.inyouropinion.net Joining up is via their "Register" link and it's simple and easy. Membership is not limited to one member per household, so you can sign up any or all of the adults living at the same address without a problem. I can see no mention on the site of a minimum age limit for members, nor is the membership limited to the UK only.
Signing up takes no time at all and involves filling in your name and email address on a small form. You'll then receive an email from In-Your-Opinion, thanking you for your interest in their panel and inviting you to click on the link in the email to activate your membership. The link takes you to a very short questionnaire consisting of just 17 questions, which takes less than ten minutes to complete. The questionnaire is a lot shorter than a lot of other survey sites and limits itself to simple background info on you and your household (i.e. age, sex, occupation, country and region you live in, income and household members). Once this is completed, you'll receive another email telling you that you're now a fully fledged member of the In-Your-Opinion panel and that you've been given ten free prize draw entries to their next lottery draw. They'll also send you a provisional password and it may be an idea to log into your new account and change it to something a little more memorable.
If prize draws are your thing, you may be interested to know that you also get ten free entries to the monthly prize draw for every person you recommend that signs up for the In-Your-Opinion panel. You need to complete the "Recommend Us" section of their website once you've signed into your account.
~~~ The Surveys ~~~
Surveys are sent via email and will tell you how many euros you'll earn if you qualify (and the number of prize draw entries you'll get too). The email will often give you the topic and the length of time it will take you to compete the survey. The topic of the survey is always of particular interest to me, as I find it always gives me a massive clue as to whether I am likely to qualify for the survey or not....something I find particularly hard to do with surveys sent to me from In-Your-Opinion.

If you qualify (and that's a big if) surveys tend to pay anything between Euro 1 and Euro 10 each, depending on their length and complexity. However, I find their surveys incredibly difficult to qualify for, and I get screened out of at least 85% of the invites I receive from this site...which is very frustrating to say the least.

However, when I have managed to eventually qualify for the full survey, I've always found their surveys to be very easy to complete with just mostly ticking boxes rather than having to type in an opinion. All the surveys I've undertaken with this site have tended to be on topics such as IT, mobile phones or technology in general. Once you've started one of their surveys, you can take a break if you so wish, and come back to it later. In general, I'd say that the surveys are well paid, but their stringent qualification criteria mean that earnings with this site are rather scarce and thin on the ground. Added to which , when you do qualify for the full survey, the amount you'll be paid may sit in the pending section of your account balance for a few days whilst they verify it.

I guess I have been averaging around one survey a month from this site....most of which I don't qualify for. Although I get the prize draw entries for responding, most of the time I find it rather too difficult to get close to their Euro 20 payout threshold. To add insult to injury, In-Your-Opinion, don't stop at sending you the same survey invite once. Despite being screened out the first time, this site persists in resending the same survey invites to me twice and sometimes three times. If I didn't have a child with diabetes at the beginning of the week (thus making me ineligible for their survey), I am pretty unlikely to have acquired one by the following week, or the beginning of the next month. Why this site continually persist in resending the same invites for surveys you've already been screened out of is a tad annoying - do they want you lie or something?!

~~~ Recommendation ~~~
Despite In-Your-Opinion offering well paid survey work, there's just not enough of it, and they make it far too hard to reap their rewards. Like so many other survey sites, the reality of membership of In-Your-Opinion is rather disappointing. Although they didn't promise me all sorts of riches and rewards to encourage me to join, I did think it might be possible to reach their minimum payout threshold with a little less effort and a lot more quickly than it did.
Maybe it's my fault, but In-Your-Opinion and I have not enjoyed a happy relationship, and it's all gone rather wrong between us. Eighteen months after first joining, and I've finally limped past their qualification threshold with a rather paltry Euro 20 clutched to my chest. That's just too slow and cumbersome a process for my liking, so I won't be continuing with my membership of this panel.
I'll reward them with a well-rounded two stars. Despite the lack of work on offer and their over -zealous screen outs, the surveys are well paid when you do qualify and the PayPal payout at the end of it all does actually happen.
Not really recommended...unless you're the very patient sort.
Very interesting. I don't have time and have actually left a few survey sites and especially don't like the ones who ask me 30 questions and THEN tell me I didn't qualify...cheers, Andy
I liked your review, well written and well said. I found that I was never qualifying for them either but they have revamped the website and it is a bit "frillier" now!
