Advantages: Match engine, 2 Cup competitions

Disadvantages: Poor league structure, bugs, too few managers to be competitive

Itsagoal version 2 went live the fall 2006, so its been around for quite some time now. One would expect that the game had managed to get rid of early bugs, and it should have attracted sufficient managers to be competitive. Sadly that is not the case. At the time of writing the manager number is as low as 2,800's something. The game is ridden by several irritating bugs, the most annoying ones concerns the transfer market. There are workarounds for the transfer market ones, for those who search around for it.

The league system is probably the weakest point in gameplay. There are around 20 leagues, with 10 divisions in each. Due to a huge turnover in managers it is only the highest one which offers decent competition for those who hang around long enough to get past the beginner phase.

The 2 cups are among the games strong points, with a huge 20 mill prize reward for the SuperCup winner. The tactical side of the game is also good.

A new change has been implemented recently which undermines the status as a free game. Subscribers are allowed to manage a second club with all the gameplay advantages that gives. They get more possibilities to dig into the game than free one club managers and the chance to test out strategies with 2 clubs. And of course the added benefit of entering 2 clubs in the Super Cup.

As a result, the game is moving away from a free one which is surprising for an unfinished, bug ridden product which has failed to attract enough users.

Playing Itsagoal one is always left wondering how many bugs affecting gameplay which are not appearant to the users....

Summary: Could be a decent game if the developers cared
