Advantages: making new friends, learning new things
Disadvantages: you might not stop talking
If you do then this is the site for you: www.ivillage.co.uk This is probably the best site I've seen, it offers something for everyone, advice, information, making friends, sharing your probelms, airing your grievances or getting the local news. There are many areas that are covered ranging from relationships, charities (some people do donate! don't they?)basic first aid, horoscopes, work and careers. Pregnancy and childbirth: work out your probable ovulation date (sorry fellas-the dreaded womens bits) calulate your due date or find a name for your baby. Share your worries with others in the same condition. SOS: dealing with distressing situations such as bankruptcy, miscarriages, alcoholism or bereavement. Diet and fitness: chat in the experts corner, speak to a nutritionilist, fitness trainer of family GP. Take part in the food anxiety quiz or keyboard yoga;learn the technique of basic posture and self massage and unwind without leaving your keyboard...the couch potatoes heaven! News and Politics: join in debates on subjects such as 'If I was Prime minster' or 'Your shout' get your budget niggles off your chest. Computer and Internet: face your fear of computers and discover the ins and outs , why's and wherefors of your PC. It's a great beginners guide to give any novices the confidence to try more on their computers. Make use of the message boards on loads of subjects;talking about pets, breast cancer support, work, relationships, the price of eggs whatever takes your fancy. You can even get a pen pal and correspond one to one. There is even a free e mail service that you can use via this website so other users can leave you personal messages. It's a great place to moan, grieve, or just use your experiences to give support to others who may need your advice. See you there.

- 07/04/01 Hello Pebbles - clearly you prefer iVillage to Femail then? Interesting...I checked it out once and could not get on with it. On the basis of what you've written, I'll give it another go. |
