Advantages: Access to job database and articles

Disadvantages: no CV database or e-mail update facility

What It Is
It is a web site with a multi-job board search that will give you links to jobs posted all over the web. There is also a page full of interesting articles from the Guardian mostly to do with employment. But there are also humorous articles and finance articles, there was also an article that took you to the guardian ‘Pick best funds for £10,000 top prize’ competition.

The Good News
Searching for a job can be very disheartening this site lightens it up and makes it more interesting with a variety of articles from the Guardian. If it can’t find any listings for the job you are looking for it offers up a link to the virtual job finder. Even if they do have postings that you want to apply for, I would suggest also visiting the virtual job finder www.virtualjobfinder.com where you can subscribe to receive an emailed summary
of any new vacancies that are added to the site matching you're requirements.

The Bad News
There is absolutely no navigation, not even a home button, it’s either use the back button or stay on the page you are directed to.
There is no guidance offered for how to use the Multi-job bank which consists of two drop down boxes one containing a selection of 30 job sectors which range from accountancy to tourism. The other drop down contains job types and there are three choices: any, permanent or contract. The last box is for you to fill in to refine your search, you will not be sent to the job database link page unless this box is filled in.

The Even Worse News
There is no facility for you to have job offers that fit your criteria mailed directly to you.
There is also no opportunity put your CV into a database that can be accessed by prospective employers, however if you use the quick search facility you are directed to total jobs.com where there is the opportunity to track applications, store CVs and set up jobs by email, they also have a vast CV database.
