Advantages: easy to play, reliable, free

Disadvantages: limited prizes

I used to play the National Lottery on a pretty regular basis - that was until one day I suddenly realised how much money I had spent and hadn't actually won anything! So that stopped, but just recently I have discovered a daily lottery which is free to play and therefore only costs me my time! I'm talking about Kingplotto, which is an internet based lottery, that is easy to play and is a bit of fun too! And the good thing is that even if you never win the 'big one' you will eventually win something! I will explain...

Every day when you go onto the Kingolotto website and log on you have the opportunity to play ten grids. On each grid you can select six numbers. You can either go through the process of choosing your own numbers or, and this is far easier, you can just click on random selection and the choices are made for you. These ten sets of numbers are then entered into the daily draw! As I said, the whole thing is free, but after each selection of numbers you do have to click on an advertiser's link and this validates your numbers in the draw! It is a very quick process though, and the whole business of selecting ten sets of numbers and visiting advertisers probably take me less than two minutes a day!

So, you are probably wondering what you are likely to win! Well, obviously the amounts are nothing like the amount you can win with the National Lottery, but it's not bad either! In the unlikely event that you match all six numbers you can win a £3000 holiday, but if these are on the final grid (which is the bonus grid) you win a car! Five matching numbers mean a £15 voucher (doubled to £30 on the tenth grid). For one, two, three or four numbers matched you win kingo points- either 10, 25, 40 or 150 points depending on the number of matches. It's actually because of the kingo points that I think that it is worth visiting Kingolotto every day because these accumulate and when you have a certain amount you can redeem these for prizes.

When you want to redeem your points you can visit the directory. Prizes start from as little as 2000 points for which you can get a kingo lotto magnet. I don't think this is very appealing and it's worth holding off and aiming to get to around 10000/ 12500 points for which there are a fairly decent selection of DVDs. I have just recently redeemed points for a DVD of 'The Full Monty' which I used to have on video so it's good to have been able to get it now on DVD. I was a bit concerned that you might get stung by a high P and P cost but you don't as that is free! The DVD only took about two weeks to arrive as well.

At the moment, some of the DVDs you could select include 'Gladiator', 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' and 'The Last of the Mohicans'. You do have to keep an eye on these as they change quite regularly. Also they only have a limited supply of any of the DVDs so it can be frustrating to discover that they have all gone.

They also have one off competitions on the site where you can win anything from a year's salary to an exercise stepper. These often are only around for about 48 hours though. All the winners are published on the site too - unfortunately my name has yet to appear but I live in hope!

There is a VIP area which gives you a greater choice of prizes. You have to have completed something like 300 grids to enter this but that is only 30 day's worth so it doesn't take long. There are also many FAQs which are worth looking at particularly as this explains all the process and how the numbers are drawn, which is by a random number software generator. It also states in this section that you do have to be eighteen to take part!

So, how do you get to know if you have won? Well, every day you receive an email which tells you the winning numbers and it also shows you how well each of your grids did and how many kingo points you have received. These emails appear as regular as clockwork every morning, and there is always just that slight excited anticipation that I might have matched all six numbers! I have to admit though that I don't expect this and I'm more interested in the number of kingopoints I have. The email also supplies a direct link and log in to the site so it is very easy to immediately select your next sets of numbers.

There is one additional way of receiving a few extra kingo points and that is by referring other people to join. For each referral you can receive an extra 100 points, so if you are interested and would't mind me referring you, just drop me a message and I will get back to you!

So, overall, I really don't expect to make a fortune winning on this site, but it is reliable and just a bit of fun. And if you are a bit patient and build up your points, every coupleof months you could be adding toyour DVD collection!

Summary: It could be you!
