Last.fm is a great social music site that allows one to explore music in many ways. Firstly, it is free to join, so I recommend you get an account, that way artists you look at, will be stored on your username and you can get access to them again. What is great about this site is that you can create your own playlists, you can add artists your a fan of, and then last.fm will recommend similar bands. It is like a never ending web, that is so easy to get caught up in.

I have discovered many artists that I had previously never heard of before, through this site and I am thankful for it. I listen to music a great deal and am always on the look out for new (or old) artists that I have not heard of before and this site is so easy and user friendly that its helped a lot.

As well as browsing and adding artists, you can also listen to the artists radio...which plays songs in the same genre to that of the artist, or the actual radio.

There is also the option to add friends to your username, which in turn enables you to see each others music tastes and in the same way you can explore more music. I personally have not explored this option too much, but it is a good idea.

Last.fm can also be interlinked with your computer's media player, so any artsist already stored, will show up on your username and allow you to explore similar artists again.

It is a very useful site that I recommend using.
