How/where would you go to book a last minute holiday? Your local Travel Agent? Look on Ceefax? Look in the Sunday papers? I think that I would have used my local travel agent before I found this site. No, not anymore though. I will bookmark this site for future use as we have a small child who I think is too young at the moment to travel abroad, I don’t think it would be fair on her. I too looked at latescapes last year because of the publicity over the 50p holidays. I realised that the company was part of Airtours which reassured me because it is ATOL and ABTA. As soon as I decided to bid for a holiday I went to travel agents and got all the brochures. Many of the bids do name the accommodation and you can avoid a costly mistake (even 50p is too much if you have the wrong destination - holidays are too precious). Eventually I bid and won a Florida holiday for 3 in Dec. 2000. I've hunted around various travel sites for a number of years and flirted with many. LATEESCAPES.COM is without doubt, consistantly the cheapest when it comes offering package holidays. As you're probably aware they are an off-shoot of Airtours (who I do not rate). With Airtours you get budget holidays at budget prices...you get what you pay for. With Lateescapes you get the budget holiday at absolute bargain prices, BUT, only if you keep your head screwed on and are flexible with your destination and time of travel! I used lateescapes.com last year and got flights to Las Vegas for £150 (for 2 of us!!). They've got a plethora of lots on offer at the moment, notable ones are Sri Lanka for £142 and majorca for £150. The site is run by Airtours plc so its not a dodgy back street operation - everything that is offered is a quality holiday/flight and the price is definitely not representative of the high quality. I don't know how they afford to offer the holidays out so cheap.
