Advantages: Easy to compare results and pick the most suitable

Disadvantages: If using with cashback sites, seems to take forever to get the cashback!

When it comes to booking a place to stay there's literally hundreds of websites you can go through, however having used quite a few laterooms is always my first port of call.

The main attraction for me is the ease of comparing your options. Most of the competitors will give you a similar list of places, however they are spread out across a number of pages and comparing them involves scrolling up and down, flicking between pages. Laterooms summaries the keys details in one line specifying price, distant from your chose location, average review score, and the star rating. This makes comparisons between places a lot easier and then you can just click into each place that meets your criteria to check the full details.

Another benefit I've found with website is the speed at which it operates. Once I have my list of suitable places I can choose to filter it by price by clicking the link at the top if the column and the list is rearranged very quickly, something that seems to take the main competitors a lot longer, and as Iggy Pop says "time is money".

In my opinion the prices are always reasonable, sure if you really want to go checking every website a couple of them might be a bit lower but we're talking pennies (from my experience anyway). I always book my accomodation at laterooms via quidco (the cashback site) which means you also can get a small portion of your cost reimbursed via the cashback company (eventually). Last time I check quidco were offering 5% of your total spend.

As for the content, that seems fairly standard and similar to any of the competitors. I'm sure the hotel supplies all that information and so it doesn't differ much. It does provide a quick link to see the hotel on a map, however this is again a fairly standard feature these days.

It has all the standard online account facilities allowing you to check your booking or reprint the confirmation should you use it, and all in all I think its an excellent website.

Summary: A great website, especially if you have no prior knowledge about your destination
