Livefortheoutdoors.com or LFTO as it's also known is the website for Trail and Country Walking magazine. If your a fan of either of these magazines am sure you will also enjoy the website. Or if your a fan of the outdoors, walking, climbing and scrambling, well this website will be just what your after!
The homepage is nicely set out with all the key features you would hope for. There is a list of all the latest stories, which include gear blogs, survival guides, interviews with famous climbers, explorers etc.. You can watch video's of various things, there is always a section for the best photos of the week. You can take part in quiz's that test your mountain knowledge, and get ideas for your next trip out.
You can also join this website which does have benefits. You can upload your photographs, enter them in competions, people can comment on your pictures and your can comment on theirs. There is a forum where you can get in touch with other people who love the outdoors and share your experiences and make friends.
Another excellent feature is the Hill Guide. Type in the name of the mountain your after and you can read reviews from other members. Look at pictures of the mountain and get information on routes up and down. This is a very good tool if your after some help getting out into the hills.
There is also a mountain weather section so if your heading for the hills you can check what's instore, this can be very important.
I also like the section where you can pose questions, most questions are answered from what gear you need, how to cope with injuries, how to deal with the elements and wildlife.
So would have to say this is an excellent website. It's one I use on a regular basis. Love putting my photos up for others to look at. I always make use of the route planner and hill guide when I'm planning my next expedition. If I need some new gear I can usually find a review that will tell me exactly what I should be buying and what I should try and avoid.
The website is bright and easy to navigate. All the features are easy to use, there is no charge for membership to the site. So I would definately say if your into the great outdoors or if you just want a taste whilst your sat in your living room, this site will have everything you need.
Find all the latest hiking and walking news and gear reviews for rambling and climbing.
