Local Bargain Finder is a website that helps you to find bargains. It has separate sites for UK, USA, Australia and Canada, but being UK based that's the only part of the site I've used. It is however brilliant at helping you find bargains, and it does this very simply: The site is set up so that it searches e-bay for anything that's listed in your area that can be collected as well as or instead of being posted. You can search either by postcode or town, up to a certain number of miles away. You can choose from 10 miles, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200 and 250.
