I started a subscription to Lovefilm because at that I did not have any broadband package or TV bundles and frankly I was a bit bored when all nice tv shows are captured by Sky Tv (Lost and Stargate, I am looking at you) and you are left with repeats of Friends on your couch.

I choose the unlimited- Max-2-discs-at-home package for about £13 pounds a month and carried on for about 16 months. Lovefilm is a big brand name around, they have a vast huge collection of films, tv shows, games and documentaries to choose from including dvds and bluray formats. You are asked to create your lists of films and choose which one is the highest priority you want to watch first. Your choice is send by post and you can use the same envelope to send back your disc without any postage fee.What was great at the start with lovefilm.com was that I was able to rent foreign movies (including bollywood discs) and TV shows that I did like and there was always new choices that keep on adding up. You just have to update your lists and priorities with a few clicks and wait for your discs to popped up.

But with time, lovefilm.com can also have its disadvantages. Films that are in low priorities are sent before, lists are not updated quickly even though you return your discs already and there is the ocasional missing discs or wrong film sent which affects your viewing pattern. Not to mention, Royal Mail strikes and their speed of deliveries which sometimes is difficult for lovefilm to have a control. Sure you are provided with free rental credits to cover for a loss time but as time goes, your lists may become exhausted and you do have wait more longer for new releases and there is sometime the feelings that you are missing on a special choice when you are send a low priority disc not to mention the constant urge to check your rentals lists for updates.

Besides that, Lovefilm.com is still be the best online rental service around and you have always have different package to choose. What I will advise to future members is to select the package that suits your lifestyle, i.e if you are a casual viewer do not select a 3 disc at home unlimited package otherwise you will be wasting your money and time and instead go for their light use combo (max 4 disc a month) .

You also have access online streaming service on your computer, digital TV and PS3 which is quite innovative and not to forget that lovefilm has a dedicated customer service and most times you can sort any issues online.

Briefly, Lovefilm.com has always pushed their capacities to the next level and they keep on improving their services and database to give you a free-hasle and no late-fees viewing experience. You are allow to keep a film as long as you wish.

I cancelled my subscription because I did not want additional costs on top of my broadband package and hence had to sacrifice lovefilm but still if you like movies,you may give it a go with their 30-days trials and who knows maybe you will want to carry on.
