Advantages: easy to navigate, you dont have to sign up for the newsletter and offers are updated daily
Disadvantages: some expired links/offers still on page, emails from companies whose products/services you have used
It would be fair to say that everybody loves a bargain, and even more so when something is free. But can you really get something for nothing? Well....kind of yes!
One of my friends sent me an email with a link to the magicfreebiesuk page, which would have gone straight in my trash file if it wasnt for my mild curiosity as to whether i could indeed pick up a freebie. So i clicked and went to the page and was pleasantly suprised.
You dont have to sign up as a member to access the site, you are free to browse the whole website and all its offers without the need to give an email or any other details. To receive the weekly newsletter detailing all the new(or continuing) offers on that week you will need to supply an email, but like i said thats optional and even then its literally only one email a week. I gave mine and havent got any spam filling up my inbox from them so thats no issue.
The website is really easy to navigate around and isnt just filled with loads of ads or pop ups. It lists all the offers on that day clear to see and gives you the option to trawl through all the freebie archives as well (although beware that some of them are expired and/or no longer active). But what kind of things are on there i hear you ask? Well its quite a mixture of eveything really, including actual free samples of products, free sim cards for phones, money off food vouchers and links to pages listing magazines and their current free gifts. It also provides links to what supermarkets may be giving away on places like facebook etc, with the most current one being Tesco giving away free Galaxy chocolate bars if you like their page and request one on the page at a certain time. There are also details of free competitions to enter to win prizes.
Today i received my free Taste Card that i requested through the post, which gives me 50% off the bill/2 for 1 meals in lots of resturaunts across the country just for presenting the card. Its a completely free no strings attatched 1 month trial card to use, which you can choose to buy for longer if it works for you. If nothing else, its half price food for a month so nothing lost there. In the past i have used the page to request free samples of lots of things, and because all the links are in the same place its easy to find whos giving what away and when. Tea bags, biscuits, shampoo, coffee and post it notes are all things that have popped through my letterbox after using the site so i cant really complain!
All of these things on offer are simply in exchange for an email address (and obviously postal address if your requesting free samples or things that need to be sent to you) so if you dont mind the odd email from time to time then you havent got anything to lose by utilizing this site. And you can always usubscribe to any correspondence after you had made use of the 'freebie'.
All in all i cant really say that much is wrong with this service. Its simply a website that collects eveything currently on offer from various companies/brands/shops and displays it in one place thats convenient for anyone on the hunt for a bargain. If you can put up with a couple of emails and the fact that there are sometimes a few irrelevant or useless 'freebies' on there then have a look!
It wont cost you a penny to try it out :)
Summary: not much to lose by having a look!
