Advantages: money for stamping your mail, people!

Disadvantages: hmmmm, none

Mailround's Mailman, I am very happy with it.
Although I don't send or receive that much email, I am still earning a decent amount of money every month for doing nothing much, and it's free to join of course!
Most of my stamps are ones attached to the mail that I read myself. I don't SEND that much. I nearly have £10 in my account already, and I honestly haven't noticed any difference in the speed of downloading mail, or ease in reading my letters.

The company send you a little email once a month telling you what award you have earned this time (bronze, silver or gold (don't think platinum exists although they say it does)). I have always got bronze (£4), but hey, for doing nothing!? Plus I COULD click on more stamps, I hardly ever do! By the way, clicking on the stamp that they "stick" on your emails takes you to a site of interest, an advertising partner with Mailround, a special offer, or to the mailround site itself. There is an increasing variety of stamps now. and of course you will have to be online at the time! :)

If you change computers, or do a reformat and need a new mailman programme, then you can login to the site and click on the little icon in the top right corner and simply get a new one, usually within a few minutes of downloading. I do think that it should be a larger and more obvious link to the "download a new mailman" page, as I have had to use this several times, and found it difficult to spot.

I like the fact that within the company's site you have access to your own list of recipients. ie- the list of people and the email addresses that you send stamps to. You can edit their details and what types of things they are interested in. They may then get a stamp that would be of use!
The important feature is that you select whether each address you send a mail to is to be stamped from now on, or not. So on official emails you can save any embarassment by NOT send
ing the recipient an advertisement (a stamp)! This option appears on screen the first time you send to a new address, and you can edit this all from the webpage under "recipients" too.

I have stamps on each of the emails I receive in my web-based account, so that is an opportunity to gain more cash! Mailman automatically detects your email accounts and does it all for you.

I think it's a good idea, and I have not experienced any of the problems that others have mentioned. The programme is small and unobtrusive.
The only little bother I find with it is a message box appearing when I'm offline, but Outlook Express is open, saying it cannot stamp each email account. These boxes need to be closed by clicking "OK". Not much of a hassle really.

Yes I only get £2 for bronze and it doesn't seem to matter that I send hundreds of emails-still only ever get bronze.

I heard that it's dropping, but my amount has been the same as before! Maybe I'll notice it next time.
Shame about that!
