Well, believe it or not, I actually met my new partner I am very happy with now through match.com!!

Personal ad's like newspapers, intorduction agencies and web sites all seem to have a huge stigma attahed to them that only 'saddos' use them and you only get wierdos. I would like to dispel that myth with my own experience.

Having recently seperated and being <cough splutter> thirty <cough splutter> something, the social forums don't seem to exist that used to. Go to pubs now and everyone huddles off into their own little groups and communes. Talk to anyone and you get stared at like your a loony or after one thing only. Not my cup of tea really. Don't get me wrong, I love to be out and about and meeting new people and have no confidence problems but meeting someone new outside your normal circle seems impossible these days. This is where these sites win hands down.

The site is a massive international directory and what seems to be the most popular one on the net. All you have to do is register and complete the typical personality and likes/dislikes stuff and post a photo. Ad's with photos get loads more hits than those without so put on your warpaint and crack a smile for a snap!!
Its worth it in the end!

You enter the criteria of the person you are looking for and can get very specific like hair colour, eye colour, religion, height, weight etc. etc. so you can really hone down the people you want to view. Response was pretty good as well. On the first day I actually got three emails! Anonymity is pretty good as well. Any contact is made through the web site via e-mail, your mail address is disguised behind their own domain name so mail HAS to pass through them. Unless of course you give them your own email address.

When I subscribed it cost £14.99 about 6 months ago. Worth the money for 12 months unlimited access with your details displayed. After a while, the searches onl
y produce the same matches and can get a bit tedious so dont expect a constant influx of new people all the time.
