Advantages: Fantastic service, easy to follow website, details are saved if yuo want to sell further phones

Disadvantages: None at all!

After briefly hearing a work colleague mentioning about selling an old mobile phone and getting some money for it I suddenly became all ears! I am trying really hard to save some money and cut back where I can so after discussing the selling of mobile phones with my friend at work I was a woman on a mission!

Thinking further into the matter I had seen a few adverts about selling your old and unwanted mobile phones for cash so when I dared to look into the draw under my bed I found a Samsung G600 mobile phone. I was not sure that it even worked anymore, the phone yes but the built in camera did not want to know. I had since brought myself another model of mobile phone and seeing as the Samsung models charger did not work I decided to look into selling the handset.

Mazuma mobile can be found at www.mazumamobile.com. The website is really easy to use and very user friendly. I used this website as not only had I seen it advertised but my friend at work spoke really highly of it. The website has been voted the best recycling mobile phone site in the UK.

What I first noticed was the website advertised buying most branded mobile phones such as:

~ Samsung
~ Sony Ericsson
~ Siemens
~ Nokia
~ 3
~ Apple
~ Panasonic
~ NEC
~ OLG
~ T Mobile

The list appeared to be endless! I then decided to search for the make of mobile (Samsung G600) this was easily done as there is a search toolbar at the top of the websites pages. If like me and at first you have no idea of what make your mobile is, look at the battery and it will usually tell you on there. You hit the search button and the website will generate a list of phones that fall into the product number.

The phones are all displayed with a picture so I could easily pick out the G600 model. You are then directed to another page where you are asked if the mobile is working or not in working order. As mine was working it meant I was going to get more for my money but if you have a phone that is not in working order, do not be put off by this as you can still get a good price for your phone.

What I liked about the website is that you can get your money in the form of cash or for a slightly higher amount you can have the money in the form of an Argos voucher. For example I could have got £19.00 in cash but I actually opted for £20.90 in an Argos voucher as I had previously seen a bed side light that I wanted in there! If you do opt for the cash then it will come in the form of a cheque, this is not a problem as my friend at work had hers in this way and said the cheque processed without any problems.

Once you have decided on your option you then add it to your shopping basket and are asked to enter the mobile phones IMEI number, this confused me but after using the help section on the website, this is a number found under the battery in a barcode form.

The website then takes you to the section where it asks for personal details such as full name and address. As it was my first time using the website I was asked to generate a user name and password so if I came to use the website again my personal details would all be stored. This information is then used to send you the packaging which you use to send your phone to Mazuma with.

I thought I would have to wait a week or so but to my surprise I was very impressed when all the relevant paperwork and envelopes arrived on my doorstep 2 days later. This paperwork included a cover letter thanking me for choosing Mazuma, confirmation that upon receipt of my working mobile phone I would get an Argos voucher for £20.90. There was a pre-paid envelope for me to sent my mobile phone off in and also further instructions to inform me that I could sent the phone via recorded delivery, as this would then cost me I decided to take my chances on the Royal Mail Postal service.

Again, I was very impressed when I was sent an email saying my phone had arrived safely 2 days after I had posted it. I was then sent a further email the following day saying my Argos voucher had been posted to be and sure enough 2 days after this it arrived! What great service.

I have to say I am very impressed with this service and would not hesitate to use it again. Not only do you make some money back on an old handset that if like me has been sat in a draw collecting dust for a few months but you clear the junk out of your home! The service that the company deliver is fantastic and to think form originally deciding to sell my mobile to getting the Argos voucher sat in my hand only took a week, where else these days do you get service like that.

This website and its service certainly gets 5 out of 5 Dooyoo stars from me.

Highly recommended.

Thanks for reading

Summary: Great way to sell your phone and earn some money back. Highly recomended.

It worked for us too. Dead easy. We sent the phone recorded delivery and after 3-4 days we got a £50 cheque, as promised on their website for that model.
