“ Medisearch has a very comprehensive travel section that gives travel advice based on information made available by Dr Peter Barrett of The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. „
www.medisearch.co.uk is an excellent site for giving you health advice before you travel. Click on TRAVEL and then on the COUNTRY you are going to. A doctor from the LONDON SCHOOL OF HYGIENE AND TROPICAL MEDICINE will give you up to date advice which you will not find in the travel brochures. For example if you are going to Indonesia there is the usual advice on Typhoid, Malaria etc. BUT there is also advice in SCHISTOSOMIASIS, DIPTHERIA, RABIES and other things you may not have thought about. Risks are assessed and advice is given. Most countries are covered in detail. This site also gives health advice of a general nature on everything from child care to stress to dental injuries to bereavement to nutrition. You can look up information on everything from addiction to skin problems. Suffer from asthma or diabetes? Pregnant? There is information on this site. In addition the site tells you about the latest health stories in the news. For some reason medisearch also has items on business, sport and TV!
A fairly impressive search engine for health/medical related items. As well as the search engine, it has lots of direct links. The homepage has lots of links to latest news stories. The web guides such as medicine, family health etc gives good links to other sites and support groups. Lots of health guides available ranging from bereavement, childcard, nutrition and retirement. I did try to find a dentist in my area, but it brought up only one in the whole of Tyne and wear. A decent site worth a look if you are looking for health related items. Fairly easy to navigate,.
