Disadvantages: Addictive! I'm boring my friends with Money saving tips!

I thought I was money savvy until I really delved into this website last November. I can't tell you how much I have saved, I know it must be more than £1,000, but also I feel so much happier about the money I am spending. As founder Martin Lewis says, (to paraphrase) it is about getting the best deal and making the most of the money you have available, not about stopping spending on anything at all.

The major discovery I made was Cash Back sites, where you can get a hefty share of the commission on your purchases that would normally be paid to a third party like a shop. For example, I earned £70 cash back on my car insurance this year, which, combined with the discounted rate I got through searching using MSE tips, made my car insurance half the price I paid last year.

As well as this,because of this site, I have changed bank account, reclaimed bank fees, learnt how to bake bread and made some lovely virtual friends. Most importantly, I've taken control of my finances, and my debt.
