Advantages: The best website on the internet- consumer revenge!
Disadvantages: None- except the freebies disappear quick because so many people use MSE!
I was told about this site by a friend and I've been an addict ever since!
***Competitions and Freebies***
There are two sections I regularly use- competition time and freebies. The first is self- explanatory; various competitions are posted on the site with helpful information on comp deadlines and usually the answer too lol. Ive never won anything but im not a daily user of this section. The one i use the most is freebies. Anything from mugs to Nivea samples are posted on here and its an excellent resource. I usually have a quick scan during breaks and if anything catches my eye i'll click on the link, enter name and address details and usually a few weeks later I will receive a handy little freebie along the lines of body lotion samples, an individual sachet of Horlicks, a Thomas the Tank Engine poster (not for me, of course) all free!
As well as the freebies and competitions sections there are other excellent forums where you can get support and advice about how to pay off debts.
***Whats on the site?***
The sections on the site are:-
Cards and Loans
Reclaim £1000's
Shopping and Spending
Utilities and Phone
Banking and Saving
Travel and Transport
Insurance
Mortgages and Houses
Family and Health
Protect your Pocket
The Forum
And a new section called deals
***Travel***
The travel section which includes a free flightchecker (helping you find the cheapest flight) is also really useful and has saved me trawling through various company sites to compare deals.
***Up Your Income***
There is also an "Up Your Income" board which gives you advice on how to earn an extra few pounds here and there. This covers things like Mystery Shopping, Survey Sites, cash back sites and even dooyoo which is how I became a member!
***The Weekly Email***
If it all sounds a bit time-consuming then just sign up for the weekly email and you'll get an email in your inbox with a summary of what offers are currently on. The best thing is that if there's an especially good freebie, instead of trawling through the freebies forum, it will be mentioned in the weekly email. This also applies to deals and bargains such as products that are currently on offer in high street shops.
***My Opinion***
This really is an excellent site and a must for anyone with some or a lot of debt, people who want to get the best bargains and people who want to find freebies!
I love the site and go on it regularly. The weekly email is incredibly useful and Ive found cheap hotel and flight deals as well as products via this site. Some of the notable benefits I have gained from MSE include:-
- Became a dooyoo member after seeing it mentioned in the Up Your Income board!
- Saved money by using the flightchecker and getting cheap flights
- Got freebies including mini samples of mositurisers, foundation etc etc
- Got advice about reclaiming bank and credit card charges
- Was going to buy a printer I saw reduced in Argos recently. I wasn't sure if it was actually a really good deal or not but then saw the same thing in the weekly email, where Martin recommended it (as it was quality and half price!) After checking the forum I saw that many MSE'rs had left opinions about this printer and raved that it was really good and the reduced price was excellent. So I was able to make an informed decision (and bought it!)
Hope these examples help- there really have been so many benefits Ive lost track but MSE is an excellent site, sign up!
