Ah where to start, this is my most favourite site on the whole of the internet.
Bit of background, Martin Lewis is a financial journalist, and started making some TV programmes for ITV called "I can make you rich". Long story short, he has got his own money saving website, which has grown exponentially in size to almost 3million people.

The website is UK based, but there are members from abroad which find some sections useful, but others such as tax/benefits do not really apply to them as they are centred around the United Kingdom.

The site is split into 2 parts, the forums which are full of knowledgable people and the information which is researched thoroughly by Martin's team e.g. best deals, laws on credit cards, etc.

The biggest campaign he has ran to date is "reclaim your bank charges" - ever been overdrawn and the bank charged you a whopping £35 "admin fee" - well get onto moneysavingexpert.com and check out how you can get it claimed back as it is unlawful, some people have got thousands back.

Other sections include Old Style Moneysaving which is basically about living like they did in the olden days to save money e.g. bake your own break, cook from scratch, grow your own veg.

Another section is "debt free wannabe" for people trying to get out of debt, there is a fantastic community spirit to encourage people to get out of debt, and many people have their own debt diaries on there, to get help and advice from others who have been there.

There is also a large shopping section for all the best bargains across the UK such as supermarkets, clothes etc. and also a freebies section where you can apply for all sorts of things for free. I have had free light bulbs, free showergels, free stationary, free vouchers, all sorts of super things in the post!

The competitions section is always busy and some members have won £20 000 in cash, others have won holidays.

The best thing about the site for me is definitely the forum. The spirit on there is just lovely, 99% are really friendly, and I think it is great that Martin often puts in an appearance on the site, he hasn't just forgotten about it!!

Get yourself over there and save yourself some money, I wish there were 10 stars!
