Advantages: Suitable For Everyone
Disadvantages: Addictive..LOL
I stumbled aross Money Saving Expert's site by mistake when searching for hints and tips on natural cleaning products.
I was a bit confused as to how I ended up on a site about Money, as I assumed that it was for people who had stocks and shares and actually had money....How wrong I was.
There is so much to do and read on the site that two years later I am site a newbie there.
First of all the site is totally free to use, although of course Martin Lewis does make his money by hosting it.
There is a page you can enter your details and you will get sent a weekly email full of the lastest tips and ways to save money. This can contain information on what newspapers and magazines have vouchers to save money, what internet sites have freebies and loads of other info. You don't need to sign up for this as it also appears weekly on the site itself.
There is a massive forum with loads of topics to discuss, from what to buy people for birthdays and Christmas, to help with booking a cheap holiday. There are sections on what shops to avoid and also praise for the good ones. There are sections on bootsales, ebay and other ways of making money. There are sections on Old Style ways of saving money, and green ways....ways of living on 50p a day, and ways of paying your mortage off early.
Basically if you think of a subject there is a way of saving money connected to it.
A great section I used a lot is Flight checker which lets you see where the cheap flights are and also show prices including all taxes and charges.
There is a section which takes you through reclaiming bank charges as well as charges on your credit cards and insurance policies.
There is so much to do and some of the people on the site have cleared thousands of pounds of debt so there is always someone there who has gone through any money problems that you are having at the minute.
I highly reccommend this site to anyone, not just people with money, or people in severe debt.
Summary: Worth A Look
