Advantages: Excellent forums, excellent advice

Disadvantages: Can be a bit harsh/cliquey

I'd be a different person without moneysavingexpert.com because I met my fiance on their forums. (which saved me money on dating sites!)

MSE (as it is known by it's users) appears to be a slightly manic disorganised website with articles and tools related to moneysaving. So not the most interesting place in the world.
Click on the "forum" bubble at the top of every page however and you will be transported into a bewildering array of fast moving and varied forums.

MSE users can tell you where to get the best mortgage but they can also tell you how to bake cakes, unblock a sink, and chat with you about the football.

The members only board discussion time should not be entered by the faint of heart, and rule breakers are not tolerated but otherwise the forums are a friendly place to get advice and have a chat while saving a few pennies (or a lot of pennies).

It is also a unusual place because there is no advertising- no annoying flash ads or google words, instead the owner (Martin Lewis) makes his money from unobtrusive affiliate links (non referral links are always provided and the articles are written before seeking links)

Summary: My first port of call for advice.
