I first remember seeing Martin Lewis (founder of the site Money Saving Expert, or MSE to those in the know....!) on the TV show Tonight with Trevor McDonald. Since then I've seen him on many other daytime / news programmes offering financial advice to the masses. He is quite the expert on all things financial & offers fantastic advice regarding issues such as reclaiming bank charges / lowering your council tax band / how to reduce debt and so on.

This website was set up a few years ago, but I've only really become an MSE convert in the past few months, having signed up to the site to receive a free weekly email. The weekly email is free to anyone signed up to the site who has opted to receive it. The email contains news regarding the hot financial topics of the week (such as the latest interest rates etc), the best offers of the week (money off coupons / codes), the latest credit card offers (longest interest free periods etc)...the list goes on! It's well worth reading the e-mail as soon as you can, as many of the offers mentioned expire quickly.

The website has sections dealing with everything from mortgages / savings / utilities / travel / insurance etc, with helpful 'how to' guides & information on the latest prices. A large section of the site is the 'Forum' where users can discuss anything & everything money-related. I have been quite keenly following the 'Mortgage-Free Wannabe', & 'Debt-Free Wannabe' as this is something I would LOVE to be able to do (so PLEASE keep rating my reviews, as this extra income is going towards my debts!).

A very worthwhile site, with friendly members, excellent advice, & NO SPAM! If you haven't signed up yet, go do it...NOW...! You'll be glad you did!
