Advantages: A way to to find a job to earn money to live
Disadvantages: many timewasters, substandard recruiters
I first registered my CV on monster over 3 years ago. As a result I have received many calls from recruiters, attended many interviews and received one part time job.
Overall I have found monster to have some use in the sense that one can simply register a CV and then be approached by a recruitment agency. In the early days I received many phone calls; however this was at a time after having recently graduated. This year I haven't been contacted once by a recruiter despite updating my CV and personal information.
There are many recruiters who are a bit rude though. They call you, ask you if you can make it to an interview, if you show any hesitancy they suddenly change their tune. I once agreed to meet for an interview over the phone, then suddenly releasized I already had an interview arranged at the same time somewhere else. When I attempted to change the time and date for the interview the recruiter suddenly cancelled the invitation.
Further to this, a lot of recruiters use Monster as a method to gather as many people as possible to attend recruitment days regardless of whether the individual is suitable or not. This is to give the impression the position is highly sought after.
Overall Monster has had some use; I managed to get one very valuable part time job that lasted a week although the pay wasn't very good. However one should be very cautious when it comes to the recruiters.
Summary: Could be a better option than dooyoo miles

- 20/08/09 No need to apologize for the rating. The website itself has recently gone under some remodeling. However, I prefered the old style when I first registered. It seems a bit slow and there are too many boxes to to fill in. |

- 19/08/09 Sorry for the rating but you've barely mentioned the website itself. How easy is it to upload your CV and then update it? How easy or difficult is it to navigate the site? |
