Advantages: Loads of help and advice, and employers REALLY use it

Disadvantages: None that I can think of

Well how surprised am I?? A few weeks ago I was dabbling abouto n monster.co.uk and created a CV that I jokingly entitled 'Superwoman'. I've just been back in there and it's been viewed 6 times by employers, so they really do look on there!

Aside from that, it's quite an easy, if not somewhat lengthy, process to put your CV on there. Once, you've done that, it's quite simple to go back in and update it or make any changes to it.

You can also create several 'search agents' that look for jobs for you depending on your search criteria. You can save the agents and check on them every now and then to see if there are any new jobs that have come up.

There's also loads of advice on doing your CV, searching for jobs etc. You also get a free YAC number, what ever that might be, so that potential employers can contact you at any time. As I'm not very technical, I haven't got a clue how this works and I've not opted to use it, but it sounds quite good.

There's also quite a good selection of jobs, including European and Global for those of you without children and commitments and with passports to trot around the glopbe in search of that perfect job.

You can ask for expert advice concerning your job search as well. The advice section is quite impressive, covering all sorts of things like discrimination at work, changing jobs and what to do, tax and salary issues.

There's absolutely loads to look into, so if you're getting to the point of hiding under the duvet when the alarm clock goes off, take a peek. You never know, it could well be your escape route.

amazed and very interested that employers look at these sites. Must dust off my CV and get it ready for public viewing.

Interesting op - I was not that keen on monsterboard - maybe I will go back and have another peek. A YAC Number (can't remember exactly what is stands for) - You're always contactable (I think) is a number thats allocated to you and then you in turn can programme it on-line to be allocated to whatever number you want - this can be a mobile, a home number, office number or simply through to the YAC number answering service. Mine checks through a selection of numbers before being diverted to my answering machine. Quite useful if you don't want to give your private number to people, I do believe however, it is a premium rate number for people calling it, but free to the end user.
Thanks for your comments on my op.
