Advantages: Good price, even better in M & S vouchers
Disadvantages: Need to check other companies as prices vary on each model
I read the previous review of mopay by sakura8 and just thought I would write about my experience.
I have recently had a spring clean and decided to sell some old mobile phones. I have already written about my experience with my first phone, which was very positive, but decided to sell the second phone to mopay. You might wonder why I would use another company when I had such good service from envirofone and cashinmyfone and the answer is simply money. Cashinmyfone offered more money for the first phone and mopay offered more for this one, a Nokia 6300, well to be accurate I had M & S vouchers as that worked out a better deal for me. (I would have received £40 in cash but got £48 in vouchers which I thought was excellent. Cashinmyfone and Envirofone both offered £40.07 Mazuma were offering £40 in cash and £44 in Argos vouchers.)
The second cash bonus was using Quidco; as a first time customer I got £4.50 cashback for my first phone, £3.60 for the second and another £3.80 from mopay for this one. As this cashback is only for your first trade it made sense to go to another company if I could find one that matched the price. As you can see even if I had selected the cash option the Quidco cashback still made it worthwhile to go to mopay.
As sakura8 has already explained the process is quite simple. Log on, select your phone either by typing in the phone name and model number or clicking on the manufacturers name and scrolling through to find your model. You will then be offered a price based on condition of your phone and whether you want cash or vouchers. As I love M & S it was no contest for me. You just add the phone to your basket, choose if you want to be paid in cash or vouchers, or make a donation to charity, accept the offer and get your order number, which you enclose when you send the phone.
You can then print out a free post label or just write one out. Enclose your details and post it off. I decided to post mine recorded delivery as I didn't want to lose the phone and get nothing for it. It cost £1.70 (I think) and that insured me for £37, so I felt it was worth it.
The service was excellent, I posted it just before Easter and expected to wait longer than usual because of the bank holiday but received my vouchers exactly 7 days after sending my phone.
I can recommend mopay as it has been a very positive experience and I am off to M & S to buy myself something with the vouchers.
Summary: A really good dea, even better through Quidco
