I bought my car from Motorpoint 2 years ago, I had used their website and others to find the car that I wanted and felt for the car I was after Motorpoint presented the greater variety. I purchased a BMW 320d in June 2007. The vehicle was new and not registered in UK but, as an import, had a reduced 2 years European warranty that had already commenced, expiring in April 2008. I was advised to purchase an extended warranty from Motorpoint that cost £399.00 for 12 months. At the end of 2008 the electronic unit for the ABS and DSC failed on the vehicle requiring a replacement at a cost pf £1800.00. I was dismayed to find in the small print of my extended warranty that the maximum claim was £970.00. Apart from being a 'rip-off' taking into account the purchase price, clearly this is not an appropriate warranty for a BMW vehicle. I have since purchased a 12 months warranty from Warranty Direct at a cost of just over £300.00 for cover up to £7,500.00. DON'T BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM MOTORPOINT.

I used Motorpoints internet sales site to organize the purchase and part exchange of my old car for an Astra ctdi. Because I live in Scotland, it was arranged for the viewing and purchase to be at the Glasgow branch. All went well initially - but I was assumed to pay the last installment of my finance on the old car which was a standing order on ... Read the complete review

Motorpoint conducted a shoddy repair on a vehicle I agreed to purchase. When I collected and checked the vehicle on collection they said it wasn't acceptable. The manager refused to pay my deposit back the next day and was very rude. Buyer beware! you do get a cheap vehicle but the service when things go wrong is very poor indeed. I may have to take them to court to get my deposit back.
If you do buy check things carefully on pick up and check the extras such as numer plates (£25-do you relly need them ) which add to the purchase price Also get them to explain what £62.13 HPI PDI and preparation is made up of- (it certainly wan't wash and valet). They won't see me again-except in court if it is really necessary.

Recently, after months of research, I bought a car from Motorpoint. Their salesmanship, if a little pushy, was superb as was the service leading up to my collecting the car from Newport. I soon discovered that there was a serious fault with the vehicle - possibly unknown to Motorpoint. I contacted the company about the car's difficiency and was initially met with a fair degree of indifference. Once I had managed to break through the protective shell, there was a remarkable change. Nothing was too much trouble and the car went back for a thorough revamp. My money was refunded without difficulty as were my incurred expenses. I was extraordinarily impressed by the courtesy and speed of the correspondence and the return of my money. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Motorpoint to anyone who might have reservations about this particular car supermarket.

Salesmen not informative about the background into the car. All of there cars are cheap because they have missed there service. Following 2 conversations with different main dealers this makes the manufactures warranty invalid due to the fact it has either missed it's first year service or in it's first 10000 miles of which the main dealers only give a months grace or 1000 miles if missed. Paying that extra £140 for Motorpoint to Service is in my eyes an invalid stamp on the warranty and would give the manufacture case to refuse any fault being free of charge. In the end I have gone to a main dealer and got more money for my old car, a full tank of fuel (which Motorpoint refuse) and a valid manufacturers warranty which comes with car for in the the same money. (Dont waste money on extra warranties).

My tale begins with a trawl of the net revealing that Motorpoint was selling a Jungle Grey Fiat Multipla Dynamic for £9,995 - a bargain as the nearest comparable deal was from Perry's who will do a UK spec Dynamic Plus for around £12,000 in a solid colour. The Multipoint car was an Italian import and had climate control and metallic ... Read the complete review

Motorpoint's claims to be the No 1 car supermarket are further from the truth than one could imagine. You are pressurised into placing a deposit on a car that they do not own at the time, and once your cheque is in their coffers they are oblivious to your requests and complaints. I would NEVER buy a car this way again and would urge anyone to reconsider doing so, as the price is low for many reasons (not good ones)! They seem to be able to spend a fortune on plush showrooms and a multitude of staff who cannot help you. The aftersales service is atrocious, and any comments you make are instantly countered with a quote regarding the fact they are a 'car supermarket'. Buy from them at your peril!

I have bought 3 cars from motorpoint in newport over the last couple of years, massive savings. More often a better spec than uk car. First car was a peugeot 407 this was 10 months old about £1500 saving. Second car a mazda 3 1.6 automatic "new 56 plate" a £ 2,300 saving and a better spec. Then my wifes renault megane coupe cabriolet "new" £5,200 saving and a better spec. The mazda and the renault both with 3 year warranty confirmed by the manufacterer.

Bought allegedly brand new VW Carravelle Sept 2006 cracking bus good price, downside Vw wont honour warrantee or breakdown cover as vehicle is one year older than motorpoint say been registered in Germany, so i now have a bus only one or two years old with no warrantee, what a pity as i was more than impressed with bus.check with dealersip if they honour warrantee on imported vehicle before you buy good luck

Be warned buying a car from Motorpoint may not be the pleasing experience you were expecting. I paid £9600 for a ten month old Ford Focus, I colleted the car on Tuesday and by the next day the side trim on the car started to come away from the cars body, on closer inspection by a friend I was told that the side of the car had been re-sprayed, ... I was fooled by the prices I admit. I went looking for a good deal but just got a bum one! I have just bought an allegedly new 'Vauxhall' Astra and whilst the car has (so far) behaved it was hardly the buying experience I had hoped for. Hi, I bought a Vectra from Motorpoint two months ago and like the writer I was very pleased with the price and quality of the vehicle which undercut the dealers best for an equivalent vehicle by over 2 grand. I purchased a 1 year old Octavia estate from Motorpoint. This was done unseen by telephone. Apart from one pushy follow up call, the whole process was fairly trouble free although trying to get details of vehicles by phone is difficult. They can't find all of their cars! They also sell nearly new second hand cars, one of which I ... Read the complete review

I bought a Fiat Bravo from Motorpoint less that a year ago. I was obviously attracted by the price, which was very competitive.
