Advantages: Hassle free and easy to get your money

Disadvantages: Very poor value

When I first heard about Music Magpie, I was really excited- a trouble free way of cashing in old CDs, DVDs and games. You type in the bar code, they give you the price, they send you an envelope to put your goods in, you post it back for free and sit and wait whilst the cheque arrives. Sounds ideal, doesn't it? Well, I was soon very disappointed by the exceptionally poor value they offer, especially for DVDs. I went through my entire DVD collection, and most titles (ok, I admit they weren't brand new, but some were classics) and I only got offered 30p. I know DVDs do not have a great re-sale value, but surely they're worth more than 30p? It was the same with CDs. Even with fees, I know I could do better on eBay.

However, on the positive side, if you simply want to have a hassle-free way to earn money for you no longer wanted items, then this is the site for you. Though I think I would rather either keep the items myself or give them to friends and family. Maybe I'm being too greedy, but I've decided against using music magpie, and will try my luck at a local car boot sale. I suggest you do the same!

If you are interested, then it's eay to register at www.musicmagpie.co.uk

Summary: Look elsewhere to sell you CDs, DVDs & Games

I thought this, too: 30p for a DVD is really almost laughable.
