Advantages: Rewards If your Lucky
Disadvantages: Too Little for Too Much Effort
Mutual points are becoming pointless, literally. Like a lot of these cashback type of sites, Mutual points promise to reward you for using their site to purchase online, sign up for various referred services, complete surveys and via "click throughs". To be fair I haven't used them for making any of my purchases, their rewards aren't great, as I use Quidco and rPoints as first ports of call for cashback rewards. Most of the points that I would accumulate would have to come from clicking on links in their daily emails.
Recently, however I noticed I was stuck at about the half way mark to 3000 points and a resultant Amazon Voucher. I was doing click thro's virtually daily and surveys but no points were accumulating.
On the Mutual Points site they have a facility to raise a query with appropriate drop down boxes to choose subject matter. I proceeded to raise a query about my "missing" rewards and, I must say, received a polite and prompt reply but it did ask for details of dates and quantity of points not credited to my account. The reply did mention an technical issue that they were having. Should Muttual Points (no I haven't misspelt that, they are Mutts!) not have records of my account activity. Yes they shouild but obviously don't. I replied, equally politely, to the email received making my best estimate but explaining the lack of records.
In the meantime put every email where I responded to their promotions and promised rewards. After a relatively short period of time I raised another query this time quantifying the shortfall and giving evidence for my complaint but mentioned the lack of response to my original query. It transpired that once they had replied to me the closed the ticket (they issue a ticket with a reference for each query raised). Not good customer relations when you, as a policy, close contact with customer when when you haven't settled the issue. Crazy or what? By this time all pretense of politeness on both sides had evaporated; again not good customer relations. I did get the 260 or so points that I actually made claim for but the other complaint that I had requested that they use their good graces to reach a settlement with me remains unresolved.
Overall impression of Mutual Points is not very good if you do use them keep close track of all they owe you because, believe me, they don't
Summary: Unreliable and Uncaring
