Advantages: Great concept
Disadvantages: Doesn't always do what it says on the box
I joined up with myhpf.co.uk a few months ago because I had read a review about it on DooYoo. I'll be honest the review was not that great and had a few complaints about delayed payments, delayed earning updates etc, but it just sounded like such a great concept - being paid to do searches online - I do so many each day and I just loved the sound of getting paid to do what I do anyway for free!
I joined up and for the first few weeks everything seemed good. I was given my own personalised homepage through which I could perform my searches. The homepage is the equivalent of your standard search engine and is powered by Yahoo, so for anyone that uses Yahoo normally for their searching, I imagine it would be no different. Although I am actually more a of a Google kind of gal, and whilst the myhpf homepage is adequate, it's not as great as Google in my opinion.
So like I said, everything was fine the first couple of weeks. I'd do my searching using my personalised homepage and then the earnings would get updated the following day at around 10am. From my calculations I was getting approximately 2p per search and I was averaging around 20-40p in earnings everyday. I was very pleased with this as I would normally be doing this anyway and therefore earning this extra money did not really require any extra effort on my part.
Unfortunately though a few weeks ago, I noticed that my earnings were not being updated everyday. They'd update maybe once every 2 or 3 days. The worst was when it didn't update for 6 days - at this point I contacted myhpf and asked them what was happening. They emailed back and said they'd been experiencing some technical faults and would update as soon as they could. The next day, my earnings were updated, but incorrectly! I hadn't been paid for anything for 3 out of the 6 days, even though I was pretty certain I'd been searching!
Anyway, I have been on here long enough to have so far accumulated around £9 in earnings. This is not a bad amount in my opinion but I have heard of others complaining about payment problems, so I am a bit sceptical. You get paid by myhpf when you have £20 in your account and I think their payment method is by cheque. I don't feel too far away from getting paid as I know that you can rack up earnings quite fast on there (as long as they update them correctly!!). But I have heard that you have to wait around 45 days to receive your cheque as they don't process it until the month after you reach the payout.
I think I will wait until I get my first cheque before deciding to stick with myhpf.
Summary: I hope they pay!!

- 18/08/09 I think they will pay us the amounts we earned up to 31 July via cheque - anything earned after that date will be given to charity. |

- 14/07/09 Good luck in chasing your payment as they now seem to be converting all accounts to charitable donations, very laudable but not what most people signed up for!!........Sue |
