“ Forums website that claims to pay money for simply posting on their site. „
When I heard about Mylot,I was in the period of time where I would look everywhere for a site that would pay me for activity, like reviews, comments, clicks and so on. After I lost all luck regarding "Pay to Click" sites, other review sites( Except this one, hehe) and others, I stumbled upon upon this.
At first, I thought it would be just like any other site on the web. Hard work, intense activity, clicks by clicks only to realize, at the end of the month, that you finally made 30 cents, when you could get out there and get a REAL job. I must say I was a little bit skeptical regarding the site.
Although I had my skepticism, I saw some good opportunities to participate. I talked where I could give my honest opinion. I even started some topics. I even saw that I could comment on what other people said on my topic or on others' topic. "Well, that's not bad".
The thing that I didn't understand at the beginning was why I wasn't getting paid. I answered at about 20 topics, I created myself another 5, I commented on what others said, but I still didn't see a penny. I kind of lost hope and logged out. The other day, I logged on and I saw I earned 30 cents. WOW! 30 cents for an hours' work. After that, I decided to be more active. And more active.
Now, although I don't spend all my day on MyLot, I can say that it gives you good money. It's minimum payout is 10$,it's maximum one is 100$, and it can be delivered by PayPal.
The only downside I found using MyLot is that some discussions are erased from the database, with no warning whatsoever.Although this is rare,it has happened about 3 times to me.And if a discussion you participated in is erased, you automatically lose the money you received for your participation. The most frequently erased discussions are those related to how to earn money on Mylot, and the questions about MyLot's payment system.
I won't recommend using it though if you try to earn serious amounts of money.I see this site as an opportunity to have fun, post my answers, question, discussions and receive a bonus for my participation. It's like I'm having fun and I am getting paid to do so. I view it as "Get paid for having fun" rather than "Have fun just for payment". I definitely trust this site!
I am very keen on paid Internetsites like Dooyoo and Ciao, and I fill out surveys very often as well to make some extra money. Last week I discovered Mylot, a site where you can open topics, answer on questions, discuss about all sorts of subject and get paid for it.
**Mylot in general**
Although I think the site itself looks a bit unorganized and old fashioned, and when you subscribe you get so many options you do not know what to do at first, so far I do think it is worth the participation. Subscribing isn't too difficult but takes some time because you have to choose your interests (in my case parenting, movies, writing, reading, children and health). Once you opened an account (which is free), you can browse around to see how this site works.
**And how does it work?**
Well, I started reading topics from other members. Most of these topics are very short and you can react on them (write as much as you like, or just give a short comment, that's fine too). Every time you rate or open a topic, you get some money.Just like with Ciao, the next day you'll find out in your account balance what you have earned. You can also add friends.
If you are a really skilled writer, you can sign up for "tasks". These tasks are paid better than regular writing of topics.
Every month My Lot is paying all members with an account balance of 10 Dollars or more. You only need a Paypal account and I've got one, so this Mylot site can be used by anyone who speaks a bit of English from all over the world. That immediatly is a major disadvantage, I am Dutch so my English writing skills aren't perfect, but I already read some horrifying posts and I am not sure if Mylot really edits any of these posts.
**The fun side of it**
Besides the fact that I already earned 0.12 dollar by just clicking twice, there is a wide variety of topics people discuss and write about. It is lots of fun to participate if you have general interest in about anything. Of course when you have a question yourself, you can open your own topic and I like it if people respond to it. Every day you can get an updat on what has happened and who reacted to your posts. Just like the DooYoo updates, I guess.
A funny site, that can earn you a little pocket money but it won't make you rich, it is a slow earner. If you like to discuss about almost anything the site is worth a visit, but it does take some time to fulle understand the site.
I joined mylot.com around six months ago being one of these people that likes to use my internet connection to make money which helps pay for my internet and a few extra things from Ebay and i like the sites that pay into paypal as its an easy way to get paid. mylot.com does just this, but it takes time to earn and get paid.
mylot.com is place where you can join in discussions, read blogs, news and share your personal experiences by writting posts and get paid for doing so. There are also tasks you can complete to earn money. myLot pays on a MONTHLY basis to all users who have over $10 in their account. In order to get paid, you must have a PayPal account.
The site is easy to join just sign up with your details and you can then post in the disscussion areas and the moe interesting your post is the higher your earnings will be. You can only have one account and if you do get two or more accounts going then you will be deleted from the site.
there are strick rules oin how to act on mylot and other members can report you for abuse so be careful on what you write, but most members are sensible and friendly and everyone has fun joining in the disscussions and posts. it is best to read the rules before posting disscussions then you can get an idea of what is allowed and what is not allowed on the site.
So far I have made $3.25 which is around a fiver but i can't cash out until I have made $10 its a slow earner but anything earned is better than nothing and it all goes into paypal along with the other sits that I am earning from so it's worth joining.
there are no limits on how many posts you can do a day which is good but make sure its a interesting posts otherwise you won't earn much.
You can also earn by reffering people if you like and this is a good way to boost your earnings.
You can also join in the quizzes and play the games like Chuzzle, Bejewelled and many other games that are popular.
The blogs are shown on the homepage and the top blogs and disscussions are there for all to join in and put your opinion to.
You can even add your photo's on mylot but again there's certain guidelines to consider.
If your looking for another way of earning money, then this is an option. A slow earner but worth doing.
Have fun x
Having been on Dooyoo and Ciao for ten years now, I thought I had heard of every way to make money online and joined most of the sites. Then the other day, I read a review on a website called Mylot.com, which sounded interesting and just my kind of thing. So I signed up.
It's easy to sign up and once you have done that, you can edit your profile and put a photo up or an avatar to represent you. It is a good idea around this stage to list some of your interests, which may seem unimportant, but the way the site works, it is essential.
The categories here include music you like, films you like, things you want to do with your life, pets you have, health issues you are interested in, games you play, sports and teams you follow, books you like, hobbies you enjoy, food and drink you love, TV programmes you watch, people you admire and many other things.
You don't have to fill in everything, but it is a good idea to at least fill in the sections you are particularly interested in. For example, I have listed lots of films, books and TV programmes, but nothing under the section for cars or technology.
Now the unique part of this site for me is that you don't write reviews or fill in surveys, you take part in discussions and are paid for it. This is right up my street! I usually have something to say on most topics and at my age, I feel I have learnt quite a lot over the years too. So I am equally happy to discuss what I thought of this year's Eurovision Song Contest as I am giving advice to a broken-hearted teenager whose first love has just left her.
This is my favourite aspect of the site. I have discussed reasons to quit or stay on a diet, the idiosyncrasies of our pet cats, what we think to the latest Doctor Who episodes, who are our favourite Bond girls, which languages we know and what is the right age to have children.
What's more, I have discussed these topics with men and women of various ages (I have seen teens to people in their 70s) and in many countries. The international aspect of the site is brilliant, as I get a chance to discuss issues with everyday people from all around the globe. Besides the US, Canada and other British members, I have discussed things with members from the Philippines, India, China, Romania and all over the world. All the discussions are in English though, which is the language of Mylot.
In one recent discussion I had, I mentioned being the mother of four children. I received a reply from a Chinese woman stating that they were only allowed one baby per couple over there. She is one of the interesting people I never would have been able to talk to in ordinary life, so it was great to read her words on Mylot, which really made me think about the differences and similarities between nations.
I have found everyone friendly so far and the discussions varied and often fascinating. You can respond to existing discussions or start your own. You get paid for starting discussions, adding a photo to the discussion, responding to other people's discussions and also if you complete tasks (though they haven't had any I could do yet). You get paid for using the search engine and for any referrals that join the site.
The payment system seems a bit arbitrary though and the exact formula seems to be a bit of a mystery, but I am happy with the payment system so far. You also have some basic rules to follow, which really enhance the quality of the site. No short one-word answers, pointless discussions (i.e. 'Isn't it cold today? Yes or no.') will be deleted and you have to be polite to fellow members.
You are paid by Paypal with a minimum payout of just $10 and the currency is converted to your own via Paypal. I earned $6.78 in my first two weeks of being on the site.
The downsides to this site? Well, very few really. One annoyance is that the total you have earned is updated once a day, which is late afternoon by UK times, so it can be a bit irritating not to know how much your total has gone up by, until a certain time each day.
You do need to have quite a bit of free time too, as it is very easy to get into the discussions and the time just flies by. I go on Mylot every day and enjoy reading the new discussions and seeing the responses my discussions have received. I have had some really useful advice on different topics and enjoyed learning more about people from all walks of life.
The aspect of Mylot I also enjoy is the point system. You earn points for starting discussions and commenting on others and this are your rating in brackets after your user name. It is fun seeing this increase and when you get to 200, you can use smilies and emoticons (mylot code), then at 500 you can use the copy and paste facility (which is useful if you've written lots and are on a dodgy computer which might crash and lose it all!).
There is also a star system which will appear after you've been quite active on the site. This is a reputation rating, based on votes you get on what you write. (There is a + or - for you to rate people's comments, if you wish.) If you have a rating of 87 out of 100, for example, you reputation will show as a '9' in your star. A '10' star is the best one.
Once you log in, the top left of the page has the tabs - (user name), new discussion, profile, (your amount earned), preferences, logout. If you want to start a new discussion topic, click on this and then you will have to choose which category to put it in. This is why it is important to have your interests listed. For example, you might wish to begin a discussion about your favourite authors, so you would need to click 'books' or 'reading' for the discussion to be started in this category.
You can also use these categories to find discussions you wish to contribute to, or you can go to the 'discussion' tab. Here you can find discussions by the newest ones posted, those without responses, the most popular ones and so on. I have always found it easy to find something interesting to join in with. Oh and you can also improve your ratings within each category, so if you love cats, for example, you might write a lot in this category and you will see your ratings improve in this section.
Overall, I love Mylot and rate it very highly. It's fun, interesting, informative, social and it pays too! What more could you want? Anyone who would like a referral, let me know via a Guestbook message at Ciao or a mail at Dooyoo and I'll get back to you.
I was introduced to www.mylot.com not that long ago now and have been using it a bit. It's easy to register and sign up and looks to me like a huge forum or something similar to facebook in the fact that it is a social networking site. The difference is that you get paid on this site for making comments or starting discussions. However, the problem appears to me that you don't really earn much at all and could take forever to make any money on it. I was on there dabbling about for the first few days and responded to a few discussions and posted one or two of my own and have a total of 11 cents in my account. The payment threshold is 10 dollars so I have a fair way to go.
So basically when you sign up and enter this American site you will see a whole range of topics and discussions posted by other individuals and of course it keeps growing as more people get involved. It looks quite cluttered when you first log in and confusing but you do get the hang of it. So, for example I posted a new discussion about who was going to win the world cup this summer and you wait to see if you get any responses. You will normally be paid 1 cent for posting a discussion but it seems to me the payment is a bit vague. I think you get rewarded for participation and getting others talking, so if you post an interesting discussion and this arouses alot of interest and responses you will get more rewards.
In addition you can earn cash through responding to others discussions, making comments and referring others to the site. Anything they make on the site you get a cut of as well, so that for me is a good thing. So if you like a referral let me know.
So, my first impressions are that you don't have to do too much to earn a bit of cash but unless you really get involved you may not earn a fortune at all. I like the site in a sense you have to think about things and the more you put in the more you get back. It's worth checking out if you want to earn a small amount of money and have a bit of fun but it won't get you rich overnight.
Mylot.com is effectively an american social networking site which allows users to communicate with each other, discuss a range of topics, create blogs, participate in a range of other tasks and get paid for it in return.
SIGN UP PROCEESS
The sign up process only takes a few minutes and requires you to enter your: First & Last name, desired user name, an active email address, desired password, your Date of Birth and finally your gender.
Once you have signed up you receive an email which requires you to confirm the account and that this is your email address, so the sign up process is fairly generic to most other sites out there.
After the initial sign up process it goes to a page in which you can send a request to all your friends from Yahoo!/msn/Gmail etc to also join up to the site in order to create a network of friends on the site much like normal social networking sites, however this is not mandatory and there is a button to skip this stage.
Now the 'Interests wizard' stage is presented to you which you can also come back to at a later date, what this basically does is present you with different categories of life such as Music/Career/Posessions/Films/Alcohol etc and you select the pictures which reflect your interests in life.
This stage is fairly long and i did question the need for it as i am sure most people are not going to be scrolling through all of your interests on your profile, and people are going to get to know you more from the areas of the forum you post in.
There are many discussions on the site just like any forum which can range from internet/life/career/general chat and many other categories in which you can either respond to, or create your own.
Tasks on the site appear to be from users who are wanting you to check out and join a certain website/forum or check out their videos on a site etc, these do not seem to be moderated and many look like spam.
You will find many such as Join this dating site for $0.50 or join this forum and submit two quality posts for $0.10, i personally have completed three tasks, and had then deleted my accounts on the sites straight after my account was credited.
So i would be careful and look into what exactly you would be joining before accepting a task.
The site allows users to post blogs on the site about whatever they wish to post, wether it be benifical to the mylot community or a rant about a stressful day, mylot will happily publish that blog on the site.
The messaging system enables users to communicate with one another privately and strike up a friendship, ask for advice or simply give them a compliment for a high quality discussion they posted etc.
when you join up to the site you are automatically given a user profile which you can choose what to showcase and what you don't want to, you are able to post an avatar, certain personal information, your discussions and responses, other users comments to you, and even html which you can use to add referal banners to other sites to earn an extra bit of cash if you wish to.
The site also happily welcomes the mylot community to upload photos to the site, which can be of just about anything, except nudity and other inapropriate activities.
You earn money on the site through responding to others discussions, posting your own discussions and uploading photos and using them in your discussions, the more traffic you receive the more you get paid.
so someone that receives 20 responses to their discussion is going to get piad more than someone with very few responses.
I personally only joined about a week or so ago, have completed 3 tasks, posted 15 responses, and posted 3 of my own discussions which have not received much traffic, and i have earned $1.10, which yes isn't alot but in reality i haven't done much for it.
I am from the UK, the site pays us in dollars as it is american but paypal converts it when you receive payment so it works out fine.
There is plenty of quizes for you to take which are much like the sort of thing you would expect to find on social networking sites like facebook, these are strictly for entertainment and do not earn you anything.
Once your account reaches a minimum of $10 you can cash out via paypal, however you can ask to save up your earnings until a limit of $50 before cashing out if you would prefer.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE SITE
I like that you are paid just for giving your opinions on topics just like you would on many sites like this around the web without payment, its also a nice place to meet new people and get almost instant advice and other peoples viewpoints.
WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THE SITE
I dislike that how much you earn depends on the traffic you receive, i believe this is unfair and it should go on the quality of your post and the effort you put into it.
Overall Mylot isn't a bad site, and if your the sort of person who is always posting in forums then this is worth a look.
*Mylot.com - Is it your lot!!*
I bumped on to this site around 4 months ago when I was looking for avenues to earn money online. Registration is really made simple as it takes only few minutes and you can sign up providing your username, password and few demographic details.
I especially like the site lay out as it is very easy to navigate across and there are lot of discussion forums available. You can post your messages as well as evaluate others in quite broad areas like home, entertainment, sports, music, art, movies, food and beverages, travel etc.The site entertains blogging and you can add your URL and images to supplement your thoughts and generate interests.
You will be paid for posting comments, answering and discussing queries raised. I liked the feature My Task where you are assigned some tasks and you can contribute to earn just for instance I completed an essay writing to get some extra quid. I would like to suggest that to maximise your earning you need to be proactive to start discussion threads without limiting yourself to only reply to others threads. It is better to use tags and be descriptive as far as possible.
However let me caution you that you need to have loads of patience to continue in this site as it roughly pays around $.01-.02 per post (although it also depends on the quality of your opinion and the number of visitors). I am yet to reach the pay out limit of $10.The site has pay pall transfer mechanism so you need not worry if you are based in any corner of the world. I have just started referring few friends and relatives so that I can earn a cumulative or combined earning due to increased participation.
Overall I would say you should take a look at this site and sign up. If not a huge monetary benefit at least you can know and share new information.
Might be your lot!!!
I joined mylot a while ago after I heard about it on another chat site. It's a good little site where you can gain a lot of insight into other peoples thoughts and opinions on a plethora of different subject.
You get paid for every comment you post and can start discussions and answer other peoples questions and queries on a load of different subjects. There are also tasks to complete on mylot where you do various things online such as writing a review or responding to referrals on other websites, it depends on the person posting the task how much you get paid.
The site is good, you basically just get paid for chatting. Yourself or other people start discussion on a variety of different discussions and you reply. Your reply/comment is how you initially make money on Mylot. You don't get paid a lot for each comment but I guess the site is good for making a little extra cash on the side. The amount you are paid for the content you submit depends on the quality, length and relativity of your answer to each discussion. So posting one word answers and one sentence as a reply to each discussion will not make you any money. Another element that might affect the amount you get paid for your answers is your rating. Your rating is what other members rate your answer, you usually don't get a rating until you reach the 100 posts marks. To see your rating you just look beside your name and there will be a star in it with your rating number. The amount you make overall really depends on the amount of time you devote to the website. It is a really good site for learning new information and if you want to know the answer to a question then post it and no doubt someone will answer you with the correct information.
There is a payout scale and you can only request a payout if you have reached at least $10. If you want you can change your pay out limit to $50 or $100 whichever you prefer. Mylot payout through Paypal so you need to get yourself a Paypal account if you want to get paid. You can get a paypal account at www.paypal.co.uk. The currency mylot pay is in dollars and this is the only currency they pay out in, you can transfer this when it reaches your paypal account.
It isn't a get rich scheme and it does take a little time to reach payout but it is a fun way to make a little money. I enjoy spending some of my time on mylot as it is much more interesting that PTC sites and other money making sites. I myself have yet to reach payout but I don't spend that much time on the site so you get out of mylot what you put in.
Mylot is one of the very first pay to post sites that I have joined, since back then in April when I first joined, so many strange and different things have happened to me there. Firstly as you may already know they pay you to post, you can get paid by the quality and length of the post. Once you reach 100 posts you will receive a star rating beside your name telling you how good, active and helpful you are. The higher your star the more you will earn. The cashout is at 10 dollars and pay through paypal. You can cashout once monthly once you reach enough funds and will get paid in up to 15 days! Mylot is not a very easy money making site so don't get annoyed if you don't make even 10 cents in the first week! There are also tasks which also help members reach cashout much much faster, some which could pay up to 4 dollars! And that is about it which I can tell you about mylot! It is a legit pay to post site so why not join.
I first came across this site a couple of months ago when I was looking of new ways to earn money online. I enjoy posting on message boards about Sport and Music so this site really intrigued me as It promised to pay for posting on the site as well as a number of other ways to earn money on the site. I easily signed up and then set about finding out about the many different discussions on the site and basically how it all worked. I have been there for 2 months now and feel able to write a balanced review on the website so here it is.
When you are logged in you will see your homepage containing all your interests in order of when something was posted on them, you have a link to start a new discussion and also have a link to your profile and next to that you will see how much money you have in your mylot account. Below you will see the latest activity from your mylot friends. This will briefly show the latest discussions from some of your friends as and when someone has posted a new comment on a discussion. You can also see discussions which match your interests which you have chosen. You'll also see the latest new discussions from your friends as and when they post a new discussion and as well as your latest discussions it shows the top discussions of the day in terms of posts made.
The reason I signed up to this site was because I could make money doing something that I already did practically every day I go online and that is post on message boards about things to do with my interests. There are a few ways to make money on mylot. The main one is to participate in discussions and the second biggest is the tasks which give you a certain amount of money for participating in the chosen task. It can be as simple as signing up for a website or as complex as writing an essay on something that you are only given half an idea of actually what to do.
There are many topics to discuss on Mylot, they range from sex and relationships to music and movies. When you click on the discussions link it will then go to a page where you will see the latest top discussions for that day as well as links to discussions you have responded to, your discussions, hot discussions, discussions with no posts yet and a few other things like discussions which fall into your interests. I find that there is usually some decent discussions to carry on with but it does get to the point sometimes that you post a reply and then you have to wait for ages to find another member who has also replied in that discussion. As you are not responding to as many posts because of this you will not earn as much money as if there were many people responding. There are 187,175 people on the site so it is quite surprising when it's really quiet.
So far I have submitted 15 tasks and have only been denied for 1 which which I will get onto later. Firstly though there are a number of tasks for members to do which range from a few cents to a few dollars depending on what they ask you to do. I have earnt $3.14 from these tasks so far but you can earn up to as much as $7.50 for a task but these are the ones which are not explained at all well which means less people will actually go for them. They ask you to write about a certain thing without giving you much information at all about what they actually want. My sole one like this got rejected and I may or may not do another.
You will be paid via paypal when you reach a minimum of $10, this is the default minimum but you can set it to reach up to $100 before payout is made into your paypal account. In your profile you will see a box for earnings and if you click on that you will be taken to your earnings page which lists all the money you have earnt day by day on the site and what section you have received the money for. Participation, tasks or referrals.
I would like to see a more detailed earnings breakdown which showed you which posts you earn the most for and a list telling you what you earn money from in figures. Using this site you can earn a decent amount of extra income but I would guess that most people on Mylot are also on review sites like dooyoo and ciao as well as ones in their country as Mylot has users from all around the world but is based in the US.
This is an easy site to use and is well laid out so you can see all the various sections easily without having to do any searching around. If you click on one of your interests for instance it will show all the results which fall under that category, This means that you can move around the site posting in various discussion rather quickly. If you are stuck with anything just click on the bar which says mylot along the different sections and you will see various helpful links that give you all the information you need to get on and enjoy your time on the site.
Like many money making sites you can also earn money from referring people to the site, all you need to do to refer people is Simply click on "invite new friends" located at the bottom left of your page. From there you will be given a form which you just enter your contacts email address and a referral will be sent with your username at the end of the link and when they sign up you will earn money for referring them to the site. This is a great way of topping up your earnings and continuing your enjoyment of the site.
I have now been on this website for 2 months and have really enjoyed it so far, the money is an incentive but I also enjoy the discussions and as you can start a discussion about a very wide range of subjects it has a very good longevity to it. This is the only site I have heard of like this but I am sure there's more like this but I doubt any are as good. This has now become on of the my favourite sites and I am now nearing my first payment which I hope to achieve before the end of October and If I keep up my posting then that is really achievable.
Mylot.com is a discussion site that pays members to post and comment. Depending on the quality of questions and responses, users are rewarded with one or two cents per post. Though the earnings are low, it's a way to earn a little extra cash for sharing information with others.
Similar to Yahoo Answers, members can post any kind of question and other users can respond with educated answers or personal opinions. The poster is then encouraged to choose a best response, which mylot administrators use to calculate a star value for each user, denoting the quality of that user's activity on the site.
I heard about mylot.com about a year ago and decided to join up as a source of some extra income. It took me several months of casual use to reach the minimum payout of $10, and although I was a little disappointed at how long it took to get there, I have continued to use mylot because it really is a great site to ask others for information and opinions on questions I need answered.
I would recommend mylot for those who enjoy internet discussions, or who frequently use question and answer sites. You may not earn much through posting on mylot, but earning something is better than nothing when it's an activity you already participate in on other sites.
Mylot is a worldwide forum with thousands of members that actually pays you to make posts. Once you have become a member by filling in a simple form, you can start discussions and post responses to discussions, on any subject. You will get paid about 1 or 2 cents for each post, and when you reach $10 in your account, you can request payment via Paypal. This seems initially to be an easy way to make money but like a lot of things, including writing reviews for Dooyoo, it takes a little bit more work and thought than you might suppose.
Mylot have rules, and if you don't adhere to them then they can take the money you think you have earned back out of your Mylot account. The rules are not unreasonable though, and are clearly designed to stop people abusing the site. You won't get paid just for thanking everybody who has responded to one of your discussions for example. If you have posted something irrelevant to the discussion, you won't get paid either. They purposely keep their criteria somewhat vague to avoid people getting around it, but the basic idea is that your posts should be of some quality and preferably 2-3 lines.
You can search for discussions on a particular subject using a tool bar, and you can save various 'Interests' to your profile page so that you are notified when new discussions come up in these areas. Interests could be dogs, people, women, dating, current affairs, Bob Dylan whatever.
I have read some boring discussions where people are obviously not THAT interested in what they have posted, eg. "Do you prefer brown or white bread?", but they possibly scrape through the Mylot criteria. But many are interesting and some can be fun to discuss. I found one discussion which on the face of it was about DIY but it was really a competition to see who could be the most disgusting using double-entendres to avoid flouting Mylot's obscenity rules. So some people do use their imagination.
Another way of making money is to complete their tasks, which I can't bothered getting involved with. For example, you might get 10 cents for downloading some software and keeping it for a month, or joining a website or bingo club, or joining another forum and making a couple of posts.
A good way of increasing your earnings is to refer other people to join Mylot, in which case you get 25% of their earnings, which is quite generous. If you had a blog and posted your Mylot referral link to your site for example, that could be effective in bringing you in some extra money.
I haven't personally received my first pay out yet as I am still far from the $10 minimum, but I have read many comments from Mylot users confirming that they do indeed pay and are very efficient about it, so I am convinced that they are OK in this regard. They do a big pay out to everybody who requests it once every month. I will update this review if that changes.
My overall view of the potential of this site is as follows. If you like chatting anyway, and you already use 'Yahoo Answers' or something, then you might as well join this site and get a little money for your posts. If you really need a bit of extra money every month, I reckon that if you get into some routine of posting, and tweak your posting method to make it more time efficient, you could earn a little extra every month that might just cover your internet costs for example. I go through the discussions in my 'Interests' every day and find it easy to make a number of quick responses (a few lines long) on things I am interested in anyway. Obviously if you can post your referral link on a website that will help you tremendously. This isn't too much bother and eventually I will get that first $10. (Brits can join and their dollars will be converted to pounds of course).
If you join Mylot, you need to check out the rules first of all. Mylot want a friendly atmosphere at the site and so a good-natured posting is recommended - no trolls allowed. They encourage you to rate other posts as negative or positive and you can report anyone if you feel their posts are abusive.
You will not make big money, but just a bit extra every month to bump up your other online earnings. Look at it like that! Hopefully, you may make a few new online friends.
Mylot.com is a forum website that has over 180 000 members. It is based in USA, but is open to people around the world.
On Mylot website you can view latest discussions, news and blogs. If you want you can also participate in or start any discussion as well as make friends with people from different countries. The best part of myLot for many users is that it pays its members for their time on the website.
It's very easy to set up an account on Mylot. You just need a username and a password.
On Mylot you can get paid by posting responses, starting discussions and downloading pictures. You can also complete tasks started by other members as well as create your own tasks and let other members complete them for you. Of course in this case you should pay for it.
Your earnings will be displayed the next day.
Mylot pays you monthly (on or around the 15th of the month).
To get paid you must have a minimum $10 in your account. The payment can be made to your PayPal account.
Also do remember you can earn 25% per referral.
My personal experience
I joined Mylot about 6 months ago. At the beginning I did not log onto the website daily. Partly I did not like the webpage design. It confused me and I was not sure if the site would pay me or not. So for my first 5 months my total earnings were less than $3. However after getting used to the website and knowing the rules I spent more time on it. Today I received a payment to my PayPal account and I was really pleased.
What I like
It's a space where I can meet people and make friends widely.
It encourages me to write in English. Because English is not my mother language I find it difficult to write long English articles, but on Mylot I can start with a small post. As Confucius said 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. I do feel the time I have spent on Mylot was worth it just for the chance to practice my English.
It's a classroom where I can learn useful knowledge about my daily life. When I have something I don't know how to do I start a discussion on the website and soon I will get informative answers. I really appreciate it.
The last but not least it did pay me. After 6 months I got paid finally.
What I dislike?
The webpage design is not user friendly. Too many ads and too many items on it.
The search engine does not work well. I never get useful information when I search on it.
The rules are very vague. I don't know how much I can make per discussion or picture. I also don't know which behaviours are forbidden so I have had some posts deleted by them.
Staff never answer your emails no matter how many emails you send or what your questions are.
To me it is not an easy way to make pocket money, but a good platform to practice English. However to native English speakers it might provide other options to make extra money.
If you want to join Mylot please PM me. I will really appreciate it. Thanks for reading.
Whenever I find out about a new site, I really try to break it down to its simplest elements so I can understand it well. So in my mind, MyLot is pretty much like Yahoo! Answers except you get paid for participating, which obviously is bonus incentive to join there!
MyLot is a questions and answers forum where people can discuss anything - politics, how to set up WiFi on their PSP, what fast food they enjoy most, and so on. Like I said earlier, its pretty much like Yahoo! answers. You can create topics or respond to others.
What you earn basically comes from how many people view and respond to your question, and also from the questions you reply to. Basically, from the money the site earns from advertising, they split it up amongst the topic creator and those who post so everyone gets a fraction of the earnings which really turns out to be pennies. The minimum amount required to receive your first payment is $10. So as you can guess, it'll probably take quite some time and effort to earn that much. Its slow earning but at the same time the site can be used to your advantage to share your opinion, seek help, or give advice or help someone else in need.
Since we're already members of Dooyoo, many of you may just find it hard to pry yourselves away from here and start an account at MyLot. Unless you really pour all your free time into MyLot, you won't see any profits.
Topics are divided by interest categories so you can easily find people who share your interests or topics where you actually know about. Adding friends allows you to see what new topics they've started so you can join in to support them.
So bottom line, MyLot requires too much time to make tiny amounts of money, but being rewarded for participation or inquiries makes it a more viable option than places like Yahoo! Answers. You can receive payments via PayPal so that's always a plus - you don't need to worry about giving any personal banking information or worry about them taking 2 months to send a check for a few dollars. MyLot is good, but you'll probably earn hundreds more in profits here on Dooyoo in the time it takes for you to earn $20 or so on MyLot.

I started to use My Lot first about 6 months ago. I am not a person that gets on it every day. I can go weeks with out logging in. The cool thing about this site is that you get paid for what you post. You only get paid a few cents for each post that you do but you know those cents did add up to the pay out and I requested payment and was very happy to receive my money with in 30 days. There are also tasks that you can do that are put out by other members and you can earn more money that way as well. So I have to say that yea it took me 6months to reach pay out with only just posting and not doing any tasks that they offer but hey I made it and they really did pay me. I am giving this site a big thumbs up for their honest and ethical business practices. Many of the members that I speak to on my lot earn the pay out every month some even double the pay out each month. The pay out is 10.00 dollars not to much but still reachable you know. So for me this is a great site. I would recommend this site to my friends and family. I mean where else can you get paid to speak your mind.
My lot as well as being a paid to post site is also a online social get together site. I have made some very nice friends on that site. It gives me the option to interact with people I may never other wise interact with. I have taken the opportunity that mylot has provided and really learned alot about me and my beliefs as well as what others believe. I have also learned that in order for anything to be a discussion you need to give the other person a chance to speak there mind. My lot provides with that and so much more.
I use mylot now to make some extra money once in a while but even if they were not to pay I think I would still have to post there just because it has become more than just a site. In a way it has become a family.
