Mylot is an American based website which is quite unique in what it offers.

It is open to everyone who want to browse it, but in order to write you need to set up an account, which is fast and they do not bombard you with spam, so feel secure to use your main email address.

The main idea revolves around getting answers to question. Basically, once you have set up your account you start selecting your interests and then you post questions, or a question, in that particular category.

The categories are predefined, but the question can be pretty much everything. In the category "travel" you may ask "what is the best restaurant in Paris" or in the category "sex" you may ask "why men prefer blondes"

Fellow members will then reply to you and you can choose the best answer. Sounds confusing? Well, I hope it is not. Why would somebody post answers on a forum like this and not Yahoo answers for example? Well, because you get a share of the advertizers revenues by participating in Mylot.

However, this share is very tiny, I had signed up for the fun of it, some time ago, and got less than 20 cents of an American dollar for posting 4 questions and also replying to other questions.

Although you may attract traffic to your question by tagging it properly, the best way is actually to participate in the ongoing discussions.

In the end I gave up, I found it quite boring and I get quicker and better responses on Yahoo answers.

Give it a miss and watch dry paint instead
