**Introduction**

I first came across this site a couple of months ago when I was looking of new ways to earn money online. I enjoy posting on message boards about Sport and Music so this site really intrigued me as It promised to pay for posting on the site as well as a number of other ways to earn money on the site. I easily signed up and then set about finding out about the many different discussions on the site and basically how it all worked. I have been there for 2 months now and feel able to write a balanced review on the website so here it is.

**Homepage**

When you are logged in you will see your homepage containing all your interests in order of when something was posted on them, you have a link to start a new discussion and also have a link to your profile and next to that you will see how much money you have in your mylot account. Below you will see the latest activity from your mylot friends. This will briefly show the latest discussions from some of your friends as and when someone has posted a new comment on a discussion. You can also see discussions which match your interests which you have chosen. You'll also see the latest new discussions from your friends as and when they post a new discussion and as well as your latest discussions it shows the top discussions of the day in terms of posts made.

**Earning Money**

The reason I signed up to this site was because I could make money doing something that I already did practically every day I go online and that is post on message boards about things to do with my interests. There are a few ways to make money on mylot. The main one is to participate in discussions and the second biggest is the tasks which give you a certain amount of money for participating in the chosen task. It can be as simple as signing up for a website or as complex as writing an essay on something that you are only given half an idea of actually what to do.

**Discussions**

There are many topics to discuss on Mylot, they range from sex and relationships to music and movies. When you click on the discussions link it will then go to a page where you will see the latest top discussions for that day as well as links to discussions you have responded to, your discussions, hot discussions, discussions with no posts yet and a few other things like discussions which fall into your interests. I find that there is usually some decent discussions to carry on with but it does get to the point sometimes that you post a reply and then you have to wait for ages to find another member who has also replied in that discussion. As you are not responding to as many posts because of this you will not earn as much money as if there were many people responding. There are 187,175 people on the site so it is quite surprising when it's really quiet.

**Tasks**

So far I have submitted 15 tasks and have only been denied for 1 which which I will get onto later. Firstly though there are a number of tasks for members to do which range from a few cents to a few dollars depending on what they ask you to do. I have earnt $3.14 from these tasks so far but you can earn up to as much as $7.50 for a task but these are the ones which are not explained at all well which means less people will actually go for them. They ask you to write about a certain thing without giving you much information at all about what they actually want. My sole one like this got rejected and I may or may not do another.

**Earnings**

You will be paid via paypal when you reach a minimum of $10, this is the default minimum but you can set it to reach up to $100 before payout is made into your paypal account. In your profile you will see a box for earnings and if you click on that you will be taken to your earnings page which lists all the money you have earnt day by day on the site and what section you have received the money for. Participation, tasks or referrals.
I would like to see a more detailed earnings breakdown which showed you which posts you earn the most for and a list telling you what you earn money from in figures. Using this site you can earn a decent amount of extra income but I would guess that most people on Mylot are also on review sites like dooyoo and ciao as well as ones in their country as Mylot has users from all around the world but is based in the US.

**Getting around**

This is an easy site to use and is well laid out so you can see all the various sections easily without having to do any searching around. If you click on one of your interests for instance it will show all the results which fall under that category, This means that you can move around the site posting in various discussion rather quickly. If you are stuck with anything just click on the bar which says mylot along the different sections and you will see various helpful links that give you all the information you need to get on and enjoy your time on the site.

**Referrals**

Like many money making sites you can also earn money from referring people to the site, all you need to do to refer people is Simply click on "invite new friends" located at the bottom left of your page. From there you will be given a form which you just enter your contacts email address and a referral will be sent with your username at the end of the link and when they sign up you will earn money for referring them to the site. This is a great way of topping up your earnings and continuing your enjoyment of the site.

**Overall**

I have now been on this website for 2 months and have really enjoyed it so far, the money is an incentive but I also enjoy the discussions and as you can start a discussion about a very wide range of subjects it has a very good longevity to it. This is the only site I have heard of like this but I am sure there's more like this but I doubt any are as good. This has now become on of the my favourite sites and I am now nearing my first payment which I hope to achieve before the end of October and If I keep up my posting then that is really achievable.
