Advantages: Networking, meeting people.

Disadvantages: Spam, useless supervision.

Myspace was definately the best site social networking site a couple of years ago. It was the place to be and nothing ever really touched it. It was very popular and i remember being on it all the time, almost every day. Then came the 'new' Myspace, which is what we know as Facebook and for some reason Myspace has been pushed out and no-one really bothers.

Myspace was always a great networking tool, i found it really helpful to be more social. The layout is very simple and easy to use. Things like, adding your friends, sending them messages, uploading videos, writing a blog, postin pictures and add music to your favourite are all easy to find. But then something happend, not many people bothering updating their status's (which tells people what mood your in etc), profiles were not being updated, friends was not bothering to go online. And then i realised they are going elsewhere - Facebook.

Facebook does exactly what myspace does. Myspace has a scruffier feel to it whereas Facebook is tidy, updates itself al lthe time and myspace seems to be dragging it's heels back them. Which is a shame because it's a fantastic networking site. What i will credit Myspace for that facebook doesnt do is, let you personalise your own page, you can do whatever you want. Upload videos and attach them to your page, put in your own background colour/picture, etc. You can really make the page your own.

One thing that irritates me is the spam. I can sign in and find a bucket load of messages from weird bands promoting their stuff. They only want to add you so you can see their bands, rate them, tell them what you think. And it's so annoyin. Myspace isnt as strict as Facebook which can be a bad thing because when spam is reported they don't seem to do anything about it.

I am still a member on myspace but hardly ever go on as i do prefer Facebook. Would i recommend myspace to you ? yes, because besides the spam and useless supervision the site has, it can be a great networking site, it's just people go for facbook now, maybe try that out first ?

Summary: Try it out- it's all you can do !
