Advantages: Clear format, easy to use with a cute mystic mouse to help you in the library
Disadvantages: Still in its fledgling stages so is slowly building up its database & library
Mystic-Mouse is one of my favourite "spiritual" websites - both UK and worldwide - at the moment, and is now more user-friendly after its recent rebuild.
I came across the original site some 12 months ago and loved their Mystic Mouse logo ... I'm all for the quirks in life!
Mystic-Mouse's main purpose for everyone who visits is to help encourage an understanding of all forms of spiritual and personal development.
I find Mystic-Mouse is a great site to keep you abreast of events, courses and places to go where you can learn more about the spiritual way of life with an enhancement on the 'interactive' elements of the website (which is one of its key developments in recent times).
So what is there for you to have a look at? Its main sections are:
Home (of course!)
Events
Locator
Links
Mystic's Selection
Astrology
Mystic's Library
As most of the sections are pretty self-explanatory, I will only spend time on those which might be a little different to other 'spiritual' websites.
Home - pretty much as you'd expect, with a few well-placed adverts, favourites and links to useful articles and other sites. You can also sign up here for their e-newsletter.
Events - a great events calendar can be found here, which you can also add to (for free) if you have an event you'd like to advertise which is in keeping with the ethos of the site. It covers the whole of the UK and covers Events, Regular Gatherings and Workshops - you can also choose a specific date range to make it easier on the eye (and brain cells!). There's also a Help section if you need any assistance in making best use of the calendar functionality.
Locator - for those seeking a local spiritual church, easy to use and with good, up-to-date contact details (for the ones I tried out, at least).
Links - again, as you'd expect, with a few specially-selected link sections, such as: Spiritual Art, Music & Writing, Publications Radio & Media, Information Sites, Spiritual Practitioners, Therapist & Directories, Spiritual Groups & Circles, Meeting People, Shamanic, Charitable & Non-Profit Organisations, Health & Wellbeing, Personal Development, Spiritual & Healing Centres, Organisations & Training, Events Organisers & Listings, Shops, Products & Services.
Mystic's Selection - Not that I personally need any help in spending money *he he* but Mystic Mouse offers their choice of books and DVD titles which they found especially useful or good. Occasionally worth a browse if you are stuck for gift ideas.
Astrology - one particularly unique feature of this site is the introduction of an "astrology" section ... sadly it's not yet up and running so I am unable to comment on specifics or usefulness. One to check out soon. I'm guessing that it will include 'horrorscopes' and such like as well as some astrological background info.
Mystic's Library - ahhhhh, I so love the Mystic Mouse going into the Library Tunnel to help you search for articles! There are some very good articles here, especially if you have trouble grounding yourself (as many practitioners do) or have a burning desire to learn more about crop circles or pranic therapy ... there's too many types of articles to sensibly list, so do have a browse. There's also an Inspirational Writing section which you can add to, if you have something you would like to see published (not me ... far too busy reading everyone else's stuff).
Coffeebreak - if you dig deep, you will eventually find a "coffeebreak" page which has some deeply silly - but great fun - games to while away any spare moments you may have! Step carefully ... minutes fly by while on this page!
As they say ... "in a nutshell, our goal is to be a truly informative and enjoyable resource that's accessible to everyone from beginners to professionals".
Summary: Mystic Mouse entertainment and enlightenment in one site

- 29/12/06 A very thorough review, think it might help if you added a little bit on the navigation (is it easy or hard) and the speed of the site also. Sam (Internet Guide) |
