Advantages: convenience, cheap as cheaps

Disadvantages: scenic route

I often use National Express coaches to travel to and from london and always have booked my tickets using the website.

I find the website very easy to navigate around and quickly type in the to and from locations and choose a suitable journey time. What i particulary like is you can see the specific stops the coach does, its estimated times and prices. The only problem i have found with the website is you can choose a journey, put in all your credit details then it pop up and say part of the journey is fully booked, but doesnt specify which part :S

The actualy coaches i have experienced have all been similar. limited leg room, 1 toilet at the back and either too hot or too cold. However the tickets are so cheap and it is worth the lack of comfort so you dont have to pyshically drive the long distance.

The drivers also vary alot on the trips! The majority of drivers are friendly enough, pop your bags onto the under part of the coach and wish you a nice trip. I have experienced a couple of extremely rude drivers who have spoke to me like a 2 year old. Generally i find the staff very helpful and friendly!

The prices are always cheap if you book in advance! the £1 to london tickets are fantastic and there are always plenty of these available if you look ahead of your trip. The coaches do fill up quickly around holidays and fridays/sundays so best book at least a few days in advance.

Generally i find you get what you pay for with National Express and use them often for convenience.

*other points about National express*

-Coaches travel all around the UK, including coaches to football stadiums like Wembley stadium.
-They also have a train service down the East Coast.
-On the main website, there are noramlly a range of different offers available, such as discounts at attractions arouns London.
-on a coach trip you can take up to 20kg luggage, this is flexible and normally, if there is room, they are not too fussed about how much. You can also take on other items such as bikes, but inform them ahead of the trip.
-Children under 5 years noramlly travel free, although may need to sit on your knee if the coach is busy.
-

Summary: convenient and cheap, but you get what you pay for

I hate National Express- you are right- you get what you paid for! A short journey from London to Devon is normally, what, 3/4 hours? It was 7 hours for me. :| My back was aching by then!
