Advantages: Well designed site, cheaper fares than buying offline, easy to use

Disadvantages: I suppose if you are unable to pay by card, or print tickets

Note: This a review of the National Express website; for the most part, I will review their services elsewhere in the appropriate section. Thanks :3

I have used the site to book coach tickets for several years, and the site has changed very little in that time. This is a good thing, as it has always been very easy to use and nicely presented.

Entering details of the journey you require is possible right from the homepage, and all destinations are loaded into a drop down list so it is easy to be precise about your destination immediately. Once this is complete, you will be taken to a page showing the services that are operating during the selected time period. Each is presented in simple detail, including the price of any funfare that is available on that service (funfares are especially cheap tickets, a limited number of which are available on most services). This means it's very easy to select the coaches you want. The next screen presents the ticket and payment options.

Once you have paid (by debit or credit card) you can either print the ticket on your printer (it is emailled to you so you can print it later if you want to) or to your mobile telephone. I have always used the first option, and never had any trouble with it at all.

Buying tickets on the site is a good way to save money; it's a very cheap way to travel in general but you will find better prices on the website than at the ticket office. I also think it's important to mention here that journeys where you have to change coaches can be made MUCH cheaper by booking the two parts separately.

Summary: The best, cheapest and most reliable way to get intercity travel tickets!

I was hoping you were going to trash them :( I think they're awful.

Well, as I say, I was reviewing the site rather than the service here :D

There are problems with delays certainly, though I'm the kind of person who doesn't really get bored, so I don't mind much unless it makes me miss a connection, which has only happened to me once.

Most of my connections are in Birmingham too- I know what you mean!!!

I went from London Victoria to Manchester Chorlton Street on a National Express once, and it took seven hours.

includi ng spending far longer in Birmingham than anyone would ever want.

I could have walked faster.

(if I'd walked onto a train)
