Are you looking for free online games to play to whittle away the idle hours?
Or are you looking for a virtual pet to look after online, to get points for to feed and groom and to spoil?

Well I'll tell you how I began on Neopets.
At the tender age of 13 I was extremely bored and decided to create a Neopets account to compensate for not being allowed my own pet Kitten.
At first I enjoyed building my virtual pet's house up, buying my pet a pet, and generally making my Neopets life and lovely as possible.

You register an account, create your username and your Neopet's name, and live life with them happily ever after, you choose what they look like and their statistics (Strength, defence, speed, etc), their personality (Friendly? Grumpy?) and live happily ever after.

Another part to the vast Neopets website is the games section, hundreds upon hundreds of Neopoints can be earned by playing the really entertaining games.
There are loads of different game catagories to choose from and even if you're not interested in your neopet or earning the points, the games alone are enough to keep your Neopets account active.

At the age of 19, when I become bored, I find myself slipping back onto Neopets.com to play some of the really entertaining games.

I'd say, get an account, give it a go, it is free.

Try out some of the games if not interested in the Neopets, or points.

I'd warn though, the games or the Neopets, can become very addictive!
