I discovered Netflix via word of mouth. I used the one month free trial alongside the Lovefilm free trial and ended up choosing to remain with Netflix on a paid basis.

Cost: £5.99 a month, first month free, for TV and film streaming that you can access from your Iphone, Laptop or PC/Xbox and various other sources. Unlike Lovefilm's streaming service, all films and shows available are included in the package price and you do not pay extra for new releases.

Sign up/cancellation: Simple, you can create an account or sign up via facebook. You are required to give your bank details but your account can be cancelled at any time during your trial and no fee will be taken. You are not required to stay with Netflix for a fixed period and can cancel your paid account at any time.

Choice of films/TV shows: There is a large amount of titles available. Full series' of TV shows such as Red Dwarf and Charmed plus boxsets of shows such as Nurse Jackie. Lots of old and new titles- 24, Fawlty Towers and Spaced. There is not a lot of recent films on Netflix at present, I noticed The Expendables and Switch were both fairly recent. There are a huge amount of genres covered by Netflix, though including Anime, Comedy, Thrillers, TV Drama, TV Comedy, Horror and Documentaries. The site is frequently updated.

Ease of use: I found the Netflix site and Xbox app easier to navigate around than Lovefilm. Everything is laid out in order of genre and recommendations made for you and your recently watched shows are listed to make them even easier to find. There is also a search option. Films and TV shows are quick to load and it automatically offers you the next episode in the series when you finish one.

Picture quality: Varies depending on your internet connection but I haven't personally encountered any issues with quality on the laptop, Xbox app or Iphone app.
