      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A great website for all football fans.

The official nfl website is a great website for casual football fans, hardcore football fans, and anything in between. The website has lots of great features for instance: live results, video highlights, league tables, all the lastest news, and a fantasy football leauge.

The main reason I visit this site is because of the fact that when games are on they are displayed along the top of the page they have all the live game scores, and if you click on an individual game, it will give you games stats, video highlights and a virtual play by play on an image of the football field.

Another great thing about nfl.com is the fact that it is clearly layed out and has a mobile version of the site which is useful when I access it on my iPhone. Also it has quick links at the very top of the page to each of the teams official websites. The website if also relatively free of adverts which is a bonus, especially considering the amount of websites that are cluttered with pop up ads.

To conclude, this is a great, well layed out, easy to navigate website for any football fans.

        Disadvantages

Very useful for American Football fans.

NFL.com is the official website of the NFL (National Football League). It provides up to date news on anything involving the NFL. The website is easy to navigate around and clearly laid out.

Scores of each game are shown, even when they are being played live. Live game scores are shown along with a play-by-play description of everything which happens in the game. It also provides you with statistics of the game and each player.

After the games are finished, video highlights are posted so you can see any big plays which might not have been shown on TV. Videos are also posted of any news stories, interviews and anything regarding the NFL. Videos are uploaded all year long so you can still stay informed even when the regular season is over.

The website has schedules of all the teams and statistics of both teams and individual players. This can be useful if you have a fantasy football team as it can tell you which players are likely to earn you the most points. Statistics can be viewed for seasons as far back as 1932. This could be fascinating if you are interested in the history of NFL.

Information on all teams is available. Here you can access information such as the teams roster, depth chart and any injuries along with other things. Also, links to each teams official fan website are provided so you can keep updated with your favourite team.

The standings of each division are provided. It shows how many wins, losses and ties each team has. It also displays win percentages, number of touchdowns and other intriguing facts. This also goes back many seasons. It has the standings of both regular seasons and preseason games which are shown separately.

There is also an NFL shop where you can purchase team merchandise such as jerseys, hats, collectible items, DVDs and other products. However, NFL.com is an American website, so delivery and shipping charges would mean it's not likely to be worth buying so I wouldn't recommend it. You can also buy tickets for games here if you ever happen to visit America.

You can also compete in Fantasy Football here free of charge. Rules of each league vary depending on the the league creators preferences. There are many different leagues to choose from so you can always find one you want to take part in. Or you could create your own league. There are no prizes but they're fun to play.

Overall, NFL.com is a very useful website for any NFL fans. It brings constant updates on anything happening in the NFL to keep you well informed. It provides every detail you could want to know and is packed with facts and figures on every player and team. It's a must visit for anyone who enjoys watching American Football.

A great site for NFL fans

www.nfl.com is the official site of the National Football league - American Football. It is by far the best site I have seen since I got into this sport. I have been watching American football for a number of years now on television, mainly on a Sunday night on skysports and I use this website for all information.

When you enter into the site I have found it sometimes slightly slow, but that could be because of the amount of information packed into the website. The site is nicely laid out with images of all the teams in the NFL along the top and then a tool bar beneath this.

You can access the following menu items from here:
News - All the latest news from the NFL
Video - The latest videos from the NFL including highlights of games played
Teams - Gives you a complete list and details of all the teams
Players - You can view players by name, position and team roster, as well as historical players
Scores - View the latest scores from the NFL
Schedules - Here are the matches coming up in the NFL for the season
Stats - Statistics on teams and players and games
Standings - The current league standings
Fantasy - Looking at fantasy points that players acquire
Tickets - Tickets for games and the superbowl
Shop - Shop online for NFL goods

There is so much detail and information and then underneath the tabs you have the latest scores from the last round of games, and while the games are on these are constantly updated as things happen.

I found that the site is very quick on updating when something happens on a matchday such as touchdown etc.

The rest of the site is made up of little sections you can enter into and read about analysis, opinions etc. on the game.

The thing I like about this website along with the great information you get is that it has plenty of graphics and videos and pictures to keep you interested and alot to read up on about the game and the players and personnel involved.

This is worth checking out whether you are into the game or not and it would be great if some other sports websites gave this much information to their fans

        Tackle this website!

        NFL.com

NFL.com is the official website of the National Football League (NFL), or American Football to anyone not too interested in the sport. Being a big fan of it, NFL.com is a website that I regularly visit.

Since it is the leagues official website it is the best place to go for all the NFL information you could ever need. Jam packed full of stats, news and videos it is a must see for any fan.

I use it mainly for checking the latest news for my team, the Baltimore Ravens, and just to generally see what's going on around the league. The analysis provided on NFL.com is second to none. They experts are the best in their field. Including mostly former players, they include some current and future Hall of Fame players and coaches. The depth they go into is just brilliant. Breaking down trends, plays and stats there is nothing you won't know.

The coverage is top class for new fans and more knowledgeable fans alike. New players can learn about the game and not have too much thrown at them, while older fans can get everything they need as well.

The amount of stats available is also unbelievable. Everything you ever wanted to know about any player or team for their whole career is available at just a few clicks of the mouse. Some people may think this is too much information but it's all important, especially when it comes to Fantasy Football...

Fantasy Football is also provided for on NFL.com. There are leagues available if you want to play against friends but also everything you need to know for the week's upcoming matchups. It's more of a fun thing to do for me but with so many people taking it seriously you can find out everything you could ever need to know so you can pick the right players for your team.

With the NFL coverage in the UK at its worst for a few years, the videos available on NFL.com are a good way to get to see game highlights and the best parts of the TV programmes we are unable to see now. Getting to see the best bits of Total Access is definitely a plus since it was a regular part of my TV viewing until it was taken off by Sky. The game day highlights are also a big plus, especially as it's the only way we can legally see the Monday Night football games now too. There is no waiting time for the videos to load so you don't even have to become frustrated while sitting patiently (or impatiently) waiting to see your team.

The combination of everything that is offered on NFL.com means that for any NFL fan it will be a favourite website to visit while you're online. Its clear design and layout mean that whatever you need is always easy to find. In terms of websites, NFL.com is definitely a Super Bowl champion.

Excellent site for fans of the NFL

I am a big fan of American Football, having played it at University and followed it for a number of years. The site nfl.com is dedicated to the National Football League (NFL) in America, and as one of the nations top sports, it is a craze that has swept the country much as a sport such as football sweeps ours.

The website contains as much information as you would care to know about the game of American Football, but does not really give an insight for beginners. It is more a tool for providing the latest updates on teams, players, results and likely turnouts for the following week's matches.

The site is well laid out. Along the top of the main page are the emblems for each of the 32 teams in the NFL, spread across the States, split into divisions of four, with the eight divisions split into two conferences. The 32 teams battle it out to be one of the 12 teams through to the playoffs, where the teams are whittled down until only 2 remain and they face off in the Superbowl for the coveted Vince Lombardi trophy.

The site also displays the matchups for the coming week, and highlights the scores as they come in. During the week's buildup to the matches, it flashes up on the spot info, and is very punctual. It is during matches that it keeps the best though, updating every play of every match with perhaps a ten second delay or so to get the information onto the site. You can flick between each match by clicking on it and waiting for the page to load.

nfl.com also runs a fantasy league, and I use this in a league with some of my old teammates. It's a good way of keeping up with the latest players and team news and is well mapped out in terms of play.

Overall, I highly rate this site. It has all the information needed on the NFL and keeps me up to date throughout the week with bulletin emails as well. During the league matches I can also chat to people in my league as long as they are logged in. I recommend giving this a go if your are a fan of the game or even if you would like to get to know the game. It's very informative and easy to use.

Official website of the National Football League.

        NFL.com

The acronym NFL stands for National Football League. The NFL was formed in 1920 and is the richest sports league in the world as well as having the highest average attendance. Thirty-two teams compete each season for twelve playoff berths and the winners of each of the two conferences go head to head to decide the champion. The Super Bowl is the biggest American television event of the year and now takes place on the first Sunday in February.

Although NFL.com has been around since at least the mid nineties it's only recently that the league has started to operate the site itself, having previously relied on content from ESPN and then CBS. The site has always been content heavy with subsections for each of the teams and a wealth of statistical and biographical detail on individual players. It also has a history section. This decade the amount of journalism and news coverage has increased substantially and for the last couple of seasons a lot of video footage has been made available including game highlights.

It has always been possible to follow live games in real time with play-by-play information being provided as well as radio coverage although this sometimes on a subscription basis. The website is beginning to show live stream television coverage of some games which are contracted to certain of its lucrative broadcasting agreements with the major American networks and it will be interesting to watch how this business model develops because the NFL has always been the market leader when it comes to sport on television. The current deal is worth 21.4 billion dollars so obviously they will do nothing to jeopardise that but expect them to be influential in combating the internet piracy of TV feeds. The NFL already operates its own film production unit NFL Films which broadcasts material on NFL Network and increasingly the potential for online content and broadcast content to merge is becoming apparent. Whilst the major American TV networks have been hesitant to upset the apple cart of their long established position at the bottleneck between programming and audience, a stance that has cost them, expect the NFL to embrace hybrid technologies.

Understandably NFL.com has at times become very graphics heavy in comparison to other websites because it really does look to be pushing the boundaries in terms of how much content can be provided by new media and deserves praise for being at the head of the curve even if it may place too much of a burden to get the most out of it if you're navigating with an older operating system. Whereas with other sports you might have to visit an official site, a TV network site, a journalistic site, and so on, NFL.com does pretty much provide a one-stop fulfilment of all your American football needs, although there are of course other alternatives. It does itself provide links to the official sites of each of its franchises. The major media outlets are probably still superior for analysis and comment but not necessarily news. The one thing missing is a forum to debate with other fans. NFL.com has comprehensive sub-sites for the Super Bowl and the annual NFL draft. The site also runs fantasy football leagues, provides ticket information, and sells merchandise.
