They can offer general first aid advice as well as advice on symptoms, illnesses and treatments. If you are concerned about something and want to check it out in more detail, then their website can be a great way to do so. NHS DIRECT --- Nhs direct is a website that can help you diagnose an illness www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk. They also have a telephone number you can call: 0845 4647, and they also have a television channel which is 100 on digital tv. The NHS direct is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day! So you can always get someone to speak to. Ive foudn this website an absolute godsend since having my twin girls.I had heard of this quite a while a go however i only ever really used it once the halth visitor gave me a card with all the details for nhs direct. Nhs direct is a phone servie available 24 hours a day where you can rign to speak to a qualified nurse/nurses who are really happy to help with any questions you have or worries etc. They have now designed this website to try and help people answer their questions on different illnesses and symptoms. The search searces too much hehe it comes up with a list of ilnesses and ailments you may have which just makes you worry. its good to go on a check out an illness or symptoms of an illness though! especially when you have young children nhs website and nsh direct helpline are a big help as to what to do etc. its great for finding nhs services and other places you can get help and advice from and information about the location and services, for example how to get there, contact numbers etc. there is calculators available to use such as a bmi calculator. you can also test your knowledge on health matters with the online quizzes which are fun to do and quite ... I'm known to sometimes to be slightly melodramatic and nhsdirect.nhs.uk does not help! I'm always looking on there to check if I have something when I have the smallest of symptoms and it always comes up with something, usually something I don't have! Therefore, I would not recommend using this if you can be a slight hypochondriac. One time when I was actually fairly ill I looked on the website to try and work out what was wrong and it diagnosed with having pneumonia, which I later found out I didn't have, but instead I had a kidney infection.
