      This site is a disgrace

I registered some time ago with this website some time ago when I was thinking to quit smoking. However the whole thing is so badly laid out that I lost interest. The alternative they offered me was spend even more money on patches to quit smoking which I do not recommend to anyone!

Now that I have quit smoking I went back to this website and reread what else new has happened so I am looking at it through the eyes of a person that has successfully quit for over 2 years, with no intention in going back, I can see what a con this place is.

First they go on about this smoking day which is not as new concept to me at all. It is actually a highly mediatised event outside UK and I can tell you it only ends up making people smoke even further by bringing awareness to the habit. As you know, any rebel will want to start just for the sake of being against everyone else, so please do everyone a favour and don't get involved.

The whole website is a hidden advert for all sort of prescribed drugs. Neither approach is helpful. They try to sell you an easy way out, when in fact there is no easy way out. If you really want to stop smoking you must ignore everything this website tell you and go cold turkey.

The forum part is annoying, everyone has the same old boring story to tell you and with the same lamentation and wailing and gnashing of teeth. You go though the posts and after a while they all look the same. The biggest section of the forum is the quitting experience noted by days, weeks and then months. I feel that they force people into quitting a certain way as in keeping a pointless track of thing when I you should just let it go, forget about it and get on with your life.

I am highly disappointed that such an efficient method as cold turkey is not promoted to it's full potential.

Support from people who know exactly where you've been, and what you're going through.

The main section of this site promotes Nicotine Replacement therapies too much. If you're serious about stopping smoking, or just thinking about it, check out the forum. A great many people cite this forum as being the biggest single factor in their quit. The support is marvellous, the links to related sites very extensive, and the collective knowledge and experience of everything to do with stopping smoking from the forum members is similarly extensive and well informed.

All methods of stopping smoking, Cold Turkey, Champix, Patches, Gum, Inhalators, Allen Carr, are discussed and forum members experience of these available for those concerned about the unexpected symptoms of using each. I came across this site 2 months after stopping smoking, so cannot claim it helped me to stop, but a great many forum users do.

It's not just about stopping smoking, there's plenty of stuff on there to help distract with cravings, and keep your mind off it. As with any forum there are the occasional fallings out - especially so with the stress associated with stopping smoking, but generally speaking it's a friendly place and all are welcome. The forums are available to browse without registering.

If you want to stop smoking, or see what benefits you could gain by doing so, I'd highly recommend this is as a starting point. It could be just the push you've needed. Good luck!
