octopustravel.comNewest Review: ... much of the hotels and locations available, you are given a calendar to choose the dates you want to travel and are asked to free type the location you want to visit. This is not my preferred way to book hotels as I like to know what is available and think this really limits the appeal immediately. Once you have chosen the location you can then decide how you want to review them, you can do this by the rating, price or distance from the city centre. The site is slow and unresponsive and the prices aren't particularly cheaper than any other online travel agent. The site is fairly basic in design and content, the checkout system appears... more |

Octopus Travel are an online travel agency, they are one of the preferred agents for Easyjet and you can easily access their site when booking a flight. The website allows users to book hotels around the world at wildly discounted rates. The site itself is fairly disappointing, from the front page you cannot tell too much of the hotels and locations available, you are given a calendar to choose the dates you want to travel and are asked to free type the location you want to visit. This is not my preferred way to book hotels as I like to know what is available and think this really limits the appeal immediately. Once you have chosen the location ... Read the complete review

I have just returned from a short visit to Glasgow which I made to celebrate one of my daughter's birthdays. One daughter lives in St Andrews and one in Glasgow at the moment, so we all met up together to catch up. I planned the trip several weeks ago taking advantage of an inexpensive plane ticket with Ryan Air. This airline serves Prestwick which is situated about 30 miles from Glasgow. I prefer to fly to Glasgow International which is more convenient, but it is an easy link from Prestwick by train which takes 45 minutes and arrives into Central Station. It was for this reason that I decided to book a night at The Central Hotel which is actually ... Read the complete review

We had a lots of problems wit Octopustravel.com We booked a hotel in London for 1 night. We arrived at that hotel in the evening. BUt than, they said that all the rooms were full beacause of restorations.... But they offered to drive us to anyother hotel in the northern part of London. It would be the same company and the tube way to London city center would be even shorter. After waiting 30 minutes (!) for a driver, who drove us through the whole city in his own private car, we arrived at that "hotel". It was not a hotel. It was a block of flats for the underclass. They offered us a room which was shabby, dirty and smelly. It was even ... Read the complete review

With offices in London, Sydney, Osaka, Hong Kong and Los Angeles and special rates on more than 15,000 hotels in 112 countries, Octopus Travel (www.octopustravel.com) is one of the biggest hotel discounters on the web. I first discovered them through their affiliate scheme with easyjet and have had absolutely no cause for complaint since. BOOKING YOUR HOTEL Their homepage is split into three vertical sections, general information on the left (travel guides, currency converter, weather reports and passport/visa information), special offers on the right and booking facilities for hotels, excursions, apartments and group bookings (nine people or more) down ... I used Octopus Travel to book a hotel in Birmingham for an overnight stay on the 9th of June. I chose Octopus because they had well priced accommodation and a varied selection. So I booked a room with them at the Crowne Plaza hotel. This is where things got unbelievable: - I booked the hotel and they sent me a confirmation e-mail telling me that I needed to take a "Voucher" that you yourself print off, which you hand in at the check in desk on arrival. This in my opinion was a stupid, which made me start to think that they have a very odd system and I had worries that things weren't going to be straight forward. So I e-mailed them asking if my ...
