Advantages: not screened out, regular invites, no emails/spam

Disadvantages: very, VERY low payouts with high threshold, many questions for small paypout

In January this year I decided to join OnePoll. I heard good things about the website, and I wanted to earn some extra cash to go toward expenses. At the time of writing this, August, I have earned approx £29.

I usually receive 2-3 surveys a week. that sounds like a lot, but when they only pay out 5-20p it's not that exciting. Many of the surveys are for entry into prize draws. At first I used to do them, because I thought it would lead to more paid surveys- it didn't. Now I don't bother doing them unless they're short e.g. three or fours questions. It's bad enough doing twenty questions five pence, let alone thirty for nothing.

The reason I stuck with OnePoll, instead of the other survey websites I joined, is because you don't get screened out of surveys. I was fed up with answering many questions, which probably gave the company a lot of useful information they were looking for, but then was told I didn't qualify. OnePoll displays different surveys you might be eligible for, and you can finish every one- you're not screened out because they've only sent out the surveys to people who meet the criteria.

There is a nice £2.50 bonus when you sign up, and you can earn more by referring friends through email, and more if they sign up. When you're earning such pittance from the surveys, this extra way to make money is more than welcome.

Another reason I stuck with OnePoll is because it can send vouchers or BACS transferred money to your account. Many survey websites offer vouchers to specific shops, so you can only spend your cash where they say you can, or you get free gifts you may not even want.

Another bonus is that OnePoll have not bombared me with SPAM. I only receive emails from OnePoll's new cashback website. One survey website I signed up to in the past still send me invites even though I closed the account!

As I just mentioned, they have opened a Cashback website. This is very useful, for example, when you get your payment from OnePoll you can buy something through their Cashback website and save money so your cash goes much further.

Now on to the bad...

As a student I rarely received surveys, but when I got married and had two kids I started to get more. I'm assuming these survey websites want a certain type of person, so the amount of time it takes to get payment may depend on your circumstances.

The website boasts that you receive payment of 5p to £1...I completely disagree. I read on another website that OnePoll used to offer 40p for many surveys, but now I mostly get surveys for 5-10p. Very, VERY rarely do I get surveys offering 15-20p, and I've never received surveys for anything more than that. I assume OnePoll lowered the payment for surveys, possibly because they had more people filling them in, but they failed to lower the threshold as well. This is the reason is takes so long to reach £40, which isn't a high number at all.

Also, the payout doesn't seem to correlate with the number of questions. You may answer ten questions and get 10p, but the next week get twenty questions for 5p. Surely you should get more money for spending more time?

If you're looking to get some extra cash in a few weeks or so, I would not count on getting it here. Realistically it'll take six months or closer to a year, depending on what details you input about yourself e.g. students not in high demand but married housewives are. When I get my £40, probably some time next year, I'll keep filling in surveys but with more realistic expectations.

Summary: Regular surveys for pittance

Have you tried lightspeed, it pays into paypal from £1, you don't have to reach a certain amount.

I'm sure it's all good fun and that but I do wonder where the merit is in paying people 5p to say who has the best celebrity breasts.
