Advantages: Nice site to use
Disadvantages: Have to log on a lot, takes a long time to be rewarded
One Poll is another survey site. It does what other survey sites do by paying you for your opinions. One Poll is a little bit different from other sites though.
To join One Poll you need to go onto the site and sign up. This just involves filling out some basic details such as your name, phone number etc. It also asks you about details of where you live and if you have any children etc. You will also need to pick a password so that you can log into the site. It is an easy registration process and won't take you long to do. Once you have signed up they automatically put £2.50 into your account straight away.
The difference between One Poll and other survey sites is that One Poll do not send you e-mails inviting you to surveys. Instead you have to log onto the site and find ones available that you can fill in. The site itself is quite easy to use. It is really bright and not too busy. It has selected the sections you need and made these all into links. It is easy to navigate around the site and I don't think it would confuse many people. I do like the way the site looks and how you use it.
When you log into the site it will take you straight to the 'your account' section which tells you how much money you have earnt. It also tells you which surveys you have recently completed. To get to see the surveys that are available to you to fill in you just need to go to the 'surveys' tab. Once in here there will be a list of surveys that there currently are to fill in. Each survey has a description about what it is about and also who should fill it out. These survey topics vary widely from who do you think is the best film star to more serious topics. They also vary quite a lot in terms of who can fill them in. Some are very specific such as women with children under 8. This sometimes can get annoying as there are a number of surveys but you can't fill out any. There are some that are avilable to all people though.
The surveys are quite simple to use and all look the same so it is easy to get the hang of. They are mainly multiple choice although occassionally they ask you for more complex answers. I like the surveys being so simple and short as it means it doesn't take long to complete. They also sometimes have some quite interesting topics.
Not all of the surveys actually pay you, some of them just offer a prize draw. These prizes are usually amazon vouchers or i-pods. I have entered some of these but have not won anything myself so I tend to ignore them now. The ones that do pay you vary between 5p and the most I have had is about 45p for a survey. You would think this would depend on the length of the survey but it doesn't always seem to correlate. This may seem very little for each survey but they are usually quite short so will never take more than a couple of minutes. The annoying thing is that you have to have £40 before you are able to redeem. This can take quite a while and I have only just redeemed a couple of weeks ago after joining the site abput 10 months ago. Some people seem to do it quicker though. The trick is to log onto the site a few times a day if you have time as surveys can pop up for only short amounts of time so if you don't log on much you may miss out.
Once you have redeemed you can request the money by BACS into your account, or by cheque or paypal. Cheques will take longer to recieve though. I requested mine to come into my bank account and it only took a few days so that was good.
The site also offers other services now such as a cashback service. This means that if you join up and spend online with certain companies you will recieve cashback. I have looked at this and it doesn't seem as good as other cashback sites so I haven't joined. They also do cash for mobile phones. Again this doesn't seem to offer quite as much as other sites that do the same.
I have heard some of the results from these surveys on the radio before so you can see the type of thing that they are used for.
Overall One Poll is an easy site to use. It does take some work on your part to log on and check for surveys. It also takes a long time to get a reward, which can be frustrating.
Summary: An easy to use but slow to redeem survey site

- 30/10/09 Excellent review, when i think of the time they expect you to put in and answer their questions and how little they are going to give you for doing that. I think it is very unfair and that they get more from it than the people who join ever will. |
