Opendiary.com is an online community for people to create their own personal diary to be kept either private or public.

It is free to sign up to the basic account which attracts people from all over the world. So why put your diary publicly so everyone can read it?

Firstly, you dont have to put any details about yourself. You dont have to say who you are, where you are from or even have a picture. You can choose to do this at your own discretion. With your username having nothing to do with you, you're simply just another person with a diary on this website. This way no one can identify that its you. If you have a diary in a book which gets found in your room, well friends will know its yours and you can hardly deny that it is. However if its online amongst thousands and thousands of others across the world, what really are the odds of someone you know finding it?
This means that you can make things as personal as you like without being afraid that someone you know will find it.

I've used open diary in many situations. The two main however are when either 1. I feel I need to get some things off my chest or 2. when I like to hear peoples unbiased opinions on situations or events.

By venting some steam by writing in an online diary, I can get all of my feelings out without people around me seeing. It then gives me something to read back in the future to see what I really thought. Ive had experiences when I read back and think how serious it was, whereas other times I read back and laugh at how pathetic I can sound. It really does make you realise who you can be sometimes and to appreciate life a lot more.

Secondly, if you need opinions about something theres always your friends and family to ask. As much as these people are looking out for you they are your friends and family and most of the time will be more biased to you, without even realising it in most cases. So whats better than getting opinios from thousands of worldwide users who can litrally make a remark by simply just what has been written, not by any history of you.

I've got many different and helpful thoughts from people, while there are a few pathetic comments too. You get this wherever you go however I'm sure.

So opendiary.com is a great way of expressing what you're thinking and feeling. Best of all, if you want it just for yourself then you can set it to private so only you can read it.
