Like many people I started my review writing days on Ciao and then gravitated to Dooyoo as the rewards were better and eventually I came to enjoy the fact that compared with Ciao it was a relatively small community of active writers on the site. ~ ~ As you will probably gather from my title for this review, I wouldn’t be counted as a fan of this type of message board/forum site. In fact, I’d probably be considered (by members of Opinionators at least) as one of its most vocal critics. ~ ~ OK. Opinionaters is for opinionaters who have opinions they would like to share with other opinionaters who also have opinions they would like to share and discuss. It’s a place to get things off your chest really, a school playground with little groups of kids who like to post stuff that causes others to answer and act like kids or very occasionally grown ups. I fall into the former more often than not because I am a terrible wind up merchant, a naughty boy whose sarcasm and pointed tongue are often addressed by the head teachers and I have my wrists slapped more times than a kinky politician in a fantasy S&M place. Ever since I started review writing, more than four years ago, there has always been somewhere away from the consumer reviews sites where people can go to chat about either the sites themselves or anything that takes their fancy. These sites have been a chance to get away from review writing, reading and rating and foster a sense of community, long before Ciao ever had guest books.
